Rove Miles Shopping Portal
You've heard of American Express Membership Rewards, Capital One miles, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Citi ThankYou Points. But there's another flexible points and miles currency on the scene that's been gaining a lot of attention lately: the Rove Miles shopping portal. The best part? You can get started with 500 Rove Miles by using a referral link when signing up (ours is shared below).
**The links in this article have been collected independently by Travel on Point(s) and is our referral link. We may receive compensation if you use it. Thank you in advance if you choose to support us by using our referral.
What Is Rove?
Rove debuted earlier this year as a new travel rewards program, billing its Rove Miles as “the first universal airline mile.” It's not tied to any major bank or credit cards. Instead, Rove operates an online travel booking platform and a shopping portal where users earn Rove Miles on flights, hotels, and everyday purchases. Those miles can then be redeemed for travel or transferred to one of Rove's airline and hotel partners.

The exciting thing about Rove is the ability to double, or even triple-dip on rewards. If you book a hotel or flight through Rove's online travel booking platform, or make purchases through Rove's shopping portal, you'll earn Rove Miles. Plus, you'll earn points and miles on whatever credit card you use to pay. You could also potentially earn airline miles on your booking by linking your frequent flyer account.
Recently, Rove also introduced loyalty-eligible hotel bookings, allowing you enjoy your elite benefits and earn hotel points on select stays booked through Rove — a rarity among third-party travel booking platforms. This is an exciting development for many.
Rove Miles Shopping Portal New Member Referral Bonus
New members can get 500 Rove Miles just for signing up for an account. Here is our ToP Referral (thank you in advance if you use it). Referrers also earn 10% of the miles the referrer earns for 6 months when referring a friend. That means if you have a player 2 that you should have them sign up first and then refer you. You will both get 500 miles and then they'll get 10% of everything you earn with Rove.
How To Earn Rove Miles
The primary ways to earn Rove Miles are by booking travel through the portal, just like you would through a travel portal like Chase Travel or an online travel agency like Expedia or Kayak. You can also earn Rove Miles by making online purchases through Rove's shopping portal, which works just like Rakuten and others. Exactly how many Rove Miles you'll earn can vary wildly. First, though, you'll need to sign up for a free account.
Earn Rove Miles On Flights
You can earn Rove miles by booking flights through Rove's travel portal. You can earn up to 10X Rove Miles per $1 spent when booking flights through Rove.

I'd earn just 1 Rove Mile for every dollar spent on this roundtrip American Airlines flight from Minneapolis (MSP) to Washington, D.C. (DCA), netting me a total of 228 Rove Miles. That's on ToP of any airline miles I'd earn by linking my frequent flyer account and any points I'd earn on the credit card I use to pay. If I used my Capital One Venture X card, which earns 2X miles on all purchases, I'd also come away with 456 Capital One miles.
Earn Rove Miles On Hotels
You can also earn Rove Miles booking hotels through Rove — and this might be the most lucrative way to earn Rove Miles. On paper, Rove says you can earn up to 25X Rove Miles on hotel bookings. In practice, though, we've found that multiplier to be even better than what Rove is advertising.
In this search for hotels in New York City for a weekend stay in February, you could earn up to 37X Rove Miles on your booking. That's better than any other travel portal that we know of.

For this two-night stay, I'd earn 17,883 Rove Miles. That's a hefty chunk of miles for a short, relatively inexpensive trip.

The Rove Miles I'd get from booking one stay through Rove would easily be enough to redeem for another night at this hotel through Rove, or to book at least an economy award flight through one of Rove's transfer partners.

If you have elite status with a hotel chain like Marriott Bonvoy, World of Hyatt, etc., select bookings will allow you to enjoy your elite benefits and earn hotel points, in addition to Rove Miles. You can filter your search results for loyalty-eligible properties, and search by hotel program. Note that only certain (often more expensive) room rates are eligible.

Keep in mind that like Chase Travel and Expedia, Rove is still a online travel agency (OTA). Before making any purchase, you should compare Rove's rates with those of booking directly with the hotel or airline. Also, we encourage not booking via OTAs and here are 9 reasons why. If you're booking a loyalty-eligible hotel, those are exempt from these precautions.
How Will Hotel Charges Code?
A change recently went through for hotel charges that they should code as booking directly now. That means that you should earn multipliers with hotel co-branded cards on these bookings and still earn the Rove Miles.
How Will Airline Charges Code?
The airline purchases on Rove code as 7011 – Hotels and Lodging. That is because Rove is still the purchaser of record, which is similar to some other bank travel portals. This means cards like the Citi Strata Premier, Amex Green Card, and Wells Fargo Autograph Journey do really well for these charges. I do wonder how travel insurance would work, or not, on flights booked through Rove because of this. Would you still have your normal trip delay coverage? That is something that needs to be considered when booking flights if you don't have other travel insurance coverage.
Earn Rove Miles For Online Purchases
In addition to the travel portal, Rove also allows you to earn Rove Miles on online purchases, whether through the desktop site or browser extension. It's similar to other shopping portals like Rakuten.
To earn Rove Miles by shopping, you'll need to click through the dedicated link on Rove's website. If you have the Rove browser extension, you'll see a popup on the retailers website if it's eligible to earn Rove Miles. The number of Rove Miles you'll earn on your purchase depends varies by merchant. There are over 13,000 online retailers that partner with Rove.

Referral Bonuses
You can also earn miles by referring friends to Rove Miles. They'll earn 500 miles when they sign up, and you'll earn 10% of the miles they earn for their first six months, up to 50,000 miles. Once they earn at least 250 miles, you'll also a bonus 500 miles. It's not the most amazing referral bonus, but it can add up, especially if you refer your Player 2.

Rove Miles Shopping Portal Transfer Partners
What makes Rove unique is the ability to turn their points into actual loyalty program points and miles. Rove Miles has 13 airline and hotel partners you can transfer your miles to. All miles transfer at a 1:1 ratio with the exception of Accor Live Limitless, where miles transfer at a 3:2 ratio. What's more, like the big banks, Rove Miles also offers transfer bonuses, where you can get additional points or miles when you transfer your Rove Miles to select airline or hotel programs.

Rove has 12 airline partners. It's a relatively small list compared to the major credit card rewards programs like Amex and Chase, but it includes several airline programs that have few other transfer partners like Air India Maharaja Club. This makes Rove Miles more valuable even with a more limited partner list. Rove Miles transfer to all airline partners at a 1:1 ratio.
- Aeromexico Rewards
- Air France/KLM Flying Blue
- Air India Maharaja Club
- Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
- Etihad Guest
- Finnair Plus
- Hainan Airlines Fortune Wings Club
- Lufthansa Miles&More
- Qatar Airways Privilege Club
- Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus
- Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles
- Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles
Rove only has one hotel partner where you can transfer your miles: Accor Live Limitless.
Other Ways To Redeem Rove Miles
Beyond transferring Rove Miles to an airline or hotel partner, you can also redeem your Rove Miles for flights and hotels using Rove's travel portal. You can toggle on “miles” as the payment option to see prices in Rove Miles.

You can get decent value redeeming your Rove Miles this way. In our experience, Rove Miles could typically be redeemed for over 1 cents apiece, and even over 2 cents in the case of some hotel bookings — better than what you can get through many other travel portals like Amex Travel or Capital One Travel. For instance, the same $228 roundtrip flight to Washington, D.C. from earlier can be booked for just 17,000 Rove Miles.

In this case, your Rove Miles are worth 1.38 cents apiece.
