Rove Miles Adds Miles & More Transfer Partner
If you thought the rates Rove Miles are paying out for hotel bookings and shopping portal purchases was exciting, then prepared to be impressed yet again. Today it has been announced that Rove Miles have added Miles & More as a transfer partner. Miles & More has never been a partner with a transferrable currency before, and that makes it exciting. They may have just kicked open the door for others to walk through (hey Bilt – how is it going?).

ToggleWhat Is Rove?
Rove debuted earlier this year as a new travel rewards program, billing its Rove Miles as “the first universal airline mile.” It's not tied to any major bank or credit cards. Instead, Rove operates an online travel booking platform and a shopping portal where users earn Rove Miles on flights, hotels, and everyday purchases. Those miles can then be redeemed for travel or transferred to one of Rove's airline and hotel partners.
The exciting thing about Rove is the ability to double, or even triple-dip on rewards. If you book a hotel or flight through Rove's online travel booking platform, or make purchases through Rove's shopping portal, you'll earn Rove Miles. Plus, you'll earn points and miles on whatever credit card you use to pay. You could also potentially earn airline miles on your booking by linking your frequent flyer account.
Recently, Rove also introduced loyalty-eligible hotel bookings, allowing you enjoy your elite benefits and earn hotel points on select stays booked through Rove — a rarity among third-party travel booking platforms. This is an exciting development for many.

Why This Is Big News
Lufthansa's Miles & More program has never been a transfer partner with any other currency. If I am not mistaken, it was because of local government laws preventing it. While you could book some Lufthansa award space with partner miles, you could never transfer points from somewhere else into the Miles & More program. At least until now, thanks to the Rove Miles program.
Previously, the only way to earn Miles & More currency in the US was to use their co-branded credit, credit flights from partner airlines to the program or to purchase the miles outright. Purchasing Miles & More currency can make sense at times when sales are going on if you really need a premium Lufthansa flight. That is because the Miles & More program offers up a lot more award space when compared to what you see when booking with partner airlines.
The downside to the Miles & More program is that the award taxes and fees can be high. That is something to consider before moving your Rove Miles stash over to the Miles & More program.

What Are The Transfer Rates & Times?
Like most of the now 13 Rove Miles partners, the Miles & More program will transfer at a rate of 1 to 1. Rove says that most transfers should happen instantly too. Those are two things we are always glad to hear with new airline transfers. Here is a complete list of their current partner lineup.
- Aeromexico Rewards
- Air France/KLM Flying Blue
- Air India Maharaja Club
- Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
- Etihad Guest
- Finnair Plus
- Hainan Airlines Fortune Wings Club
- Miles & More
- Qatar Airways Privilege Club
- Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus
- Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles
- Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles
- All Accor (1.5 to 1 transfer rate)
That is a pretty unique list of transfer partners when you compare it to some other transferrable currencies.
Limited Time Sign Up Bonus

Rove Miles Adds Miles & More Transfer Partner: ToP Thoughts
Whenever something is done that has never been done before it is big news. That is exactly what we have here with Rove Miles adding Miles & More as a transfer partner. While the Miles & More program isn't the most exciting, it can make sense for certain situations. This accessibility to the program also opens up a ton of award seats that we would have never been able to book before on Lufthansa. Especially those coveted first class seats! Let me know what you think about Rove Miles and this development over in the ToP Facebook Group.
