Earn Bilt Rewards On Rakuten
The leaked news is now officially confirmed. You can now earn Bilt Rewards on Rakuten! It will go alongside traditional cash back and Membership Rewards as the other earning options. I can say that Bilt Rewards will be the best option, in terms of value, for most people. At least starting out, after that it may depend on your status levels within the Bilt Rewards ecosystem. Earning Bilt status should hopefully be easier than ever soon with points for mortgages rolling out to cardholders in early 2026.
Earning Bilt Rewards On Rakuten Is Now Live
Here is what the set up will look like for earning Bilt Rewards on Rakuten:
- For the first six months, all Bilt member status tiers will enjoy a 1:1 conversion rate: $10 in Rakuten Cash Back equals 1,000 Bilt Points.

- Welcome Bonus: For a limited time, Bilt Members who sign up for Rakuten through the Bilt app will earn 2,500 bonus Bilt Points after their first qualifying purchase of $25 or more.
- You can do better than this with our $50 refer a friend offer.
- Shop Everywhere: Access thousands of top retailers through the Bilt app or the Rakuten website, browser extension or mobile app, all while earning rewards that actually move the needle on your financial goals.
Here is what it will look like after the first 6 months:
- Bilt Rewards Blue status members will receive 50 Bilt Points for every $1 in Rakuten Cash Back.
- Bilt Rewards Silver/Gold/Platinum status members will remain at 100 Bilt Points for every dollar.
These rates are subject to change at any time. Getting Silver status isn't too difficult, so it is good to see lower end status levels getting the one to one redemption rate. That is what Membership Rewards offers too, but most will value one Bilt point over a Membership Rewards point.
How To Set It Up
Here is how you can start earning Bilt Rewards on Rakuten:
- Link your Rakuten account through the Bilt app
- Select “Bilt Points” as your Rakuten payment method
- Shop at participating Rakuten stores as you normally would
- Receive Bilt Points automatically for your quarterly Rakuten payout
When this all leaked on the Rakuten site it said that you may need to flip from earning Membership Rewards to cash back before being able to turn on Bilt Rewards earning. Just be aware that there may be an extra step there if you are earning Membership Rewards currently. We will have to see what the process is like once it goes live.
Bilt has said that whatever you have selected as your Rakuten payout option on 11/14/25 should be how you are paid on 11/15/25. So it is still possible to get Bilt points for this months payout.
My Experience Setting It Up
I was able to link my two accounts fairly easily. I should notate that I switched my account to cash back in preparation for this day when the leak came through, so I'm not sure if that helped or not. You will want to update your Bilt Rewards app first too.
To start, I went to the Rewards tab and selected Everyday Rewards. That is where I saw the Link Rakuten account button. I clicked it then confirmed the pop-up by selecting Link Account again. Once I approved the legal terms it said my accounts were linked. I then went to my Rakuten account and it shows that my next payout will be in Bilt Rewards points. Super easy! I assume your Rakuten and Bilt account emails need to match for this process to be as seamless as mine was.
Bilt Rewards Rakuten Payout: ToP Thoughts
Adding Bilt Rewards as a Rakuten Payout option is pretty amazing news. I value Bilt Rewards points so much that I would probably be willing to take a lower payout at other shopping portals to earn Bilt points instead. Luckily Rakuten is usually very competitive there. This is a great move by Bilt and an even better move by Rakuten. It makes what was already many people's favorite shopping portal even better. Although Rove Miles has been making some noise on that front as of late. There is still a new member sign up at Rakuten worth 5,000 points that is running until the end of the year.
