It is ridiculous that it even had to come to this over a measly 5,000 points. Even if a company thinks they are right for such a minimal outlay why wouldn't you give in so you don't upset a customer. As I have personally seen, Wyndham customer service blows and they don't follow their own rules even when you show them the terms.
