How To Earn Iberia Avios

Avios are some of the easiest airline miles to earn. There are plenty of ways to earn Iberia Avios. You can transfer points directly to Iberia from the following transferrable points programs at a 1:1 ratio.

Iberia is offering discounted award flights between the U.S. and Spain this fall. Below are the basic details of this Iberia award sale:

• Booking period: Now through September 11, 2025
• Travel dates: Between October 1, 2025 and December 5, 2025, including Thanksgiving dates
• Cost: From 6,400 Avios one-way, plus taxes and fees
• Routes: Book from the following U.S. cities to Madrid (MAD) — and vice versa

  • Miami (MIA)

Award availability for this sale appears mostly limited to basic economy and economy seats, with some premium economy seats potentially available on select routes and dates. We could not find any business class availability through this Iberia award sale as of publication.

Award Flights To Spain From 6,400 Avios

With this Iberia award sale, you can book flights to or from Iberia's hub in Madrid for as few as 6,400 Avios each way. The lowest award rates are flying between Boston, Chicago, New York-JFK, and Washington, D.C.-Dulles.

The cheapest tickets are basic economy, which includes a carry-on bag and a personal item. For a few thousand more Avios, you can book a fare that includes a free checked bag. Taxes and fees are relatively reasonable for flights to Europe at around $100 each way.

Award flights from Dallas (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), and Orlando (MCO) start at 8,000 Avios each way, with the same taxes and fees.

How To Book The Iberia Award Sale

To book this Iberia award sale, head to Iberia's website and start an award search. Be sure to select “Pay with Avios.” It will be easiest to search for one-way flights. Select “my dates are flexible” when choosing your travel dates. You'll be prompted to log into your Iberia Club account before seeing the search results, if you aren't already.

To view the award calendar, select the option for a “monthly view of flights” in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

Now, you'll see a month's worth of award flights. This allows you to zero in on the lowest 6,400-mile award rate.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a cheaper way to use your points and miles to get to Spain (or Europe!) this fall than this Iberia award sale. Just 6,400 Avios each way is an incredible deal for transatlantic flights, and taxes and fees aren't terrible, either.
