Or, book flights on SkyTeam partners like Delta. The Air France KLM Visa Signature Credit Card is not a card we'd recommend for folks who are under 5/24. (There are much more valuable transferable currency and cobranded ToP cards you should grab first.) But for those who are over 5/24, this welcome offer is more alluring. And the ability to spend toward status can make it a compelling keeper card, too. Let's take a closer look at this Air France KLM Visa Signature Credit Card.

- 50,000 bonus miles + 100 Experience Points (XP): after you make $2,000 or more in purchases within the first 90 days of your account opening.

Bank of America Application Rules
In the US, the Air France KLM Visa Signature Credit Card is issued by Bank of America. You'll want to keep in mind its 2/3/4 Rule, which generally allows approval for a max of 2 Bank of America cards in a rolling two-month period; 3 Bank of America cards in a rolling 12-month period; and 4 Bank of America cards in a rolling 24-month period.
It also has a 3/12 and 7/12 rule, depending on if you have a checking account with the bank or not. If you do not have one, you'd fall under the 3/12 rule, which makes a denial more likely for those who have gotten more than 3 new personal cards in the past 12 months (from all banks). That number increases to 7 new personal cards in the past 12 months for those who do have a banking relationship. Earning Structure
The Air France KLM Visa Signature Credit Card‘s earning structure offers triple miles on dining and on select airline purchases, plus a 1.5x catchall opportunity:
- Earn 3x miles on eligible Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and SkyTeam member airline purchases.
- Earn 3x miles on eligible dining purchases
- Earn 1.5x miles on all other purchases

- Anniversary points: Receive 5,000 miles every year on your account anniversary, after spending $50 or more on purchases within the anniversary year
- Experience Points (XP)-earning potential:
- Receive 20 XP every year on your account anniversary, plus:
- Earn an additional 80 XP (totaling 100 XP) on the account anniversary after you spend $15,000 or more on purchases within the anniversary year.
- Earn an additional 60 XP (totaling 160 XP) on the account anniversary after you spend $25,000 or more on purchases within the anniversary year.
- Receive 20 XP every year on your account anniversary, plus:
- No foreign transaction fees

Welcome Offer
The Air France KLM Visa Signature Credit Card‘s welcome offer can be valuable. The 50,000-mile bonus, plus the miles earned from regular spending, is nearly enough points to get you a 60,000-mile business class award to Europe. (In fact, this month's promo awards include 45,000-mile fares to Europe from New York.)
That said, Flying Blue miles are relatively easy to earn on their own. If you have collected many of the transferable cards from our ToP cards list, you likely have several options for getting your hands on them. Flying Blue's transfer partners include American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Capital One Miles, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou Points and Wells Fargo Rewards. You can also convert Rove Miles and Marriott Bonvoy points to the program. This is why those who are under 5/24 should look the other way.
Earning Rate + Benefits
The opportunity to earn 1.5x on everyday spend is rare for an airline card, even though it's not likely the best use for your spend. But if you are interested in chasing status, the Experience Points (XP)-earning potential each anniversary year is this card's real long-term draw. Completing the welcome offer also gives you 100 XPs your first year, which is worth Silver status. And those who can put higher spend on the card can work toward Gold status or higher. Status perks include:

Air France KLM Visa Signature Credit Card: ToP Thoughts
As much as we love the Flying Blue program at ToP, the Air France KLM Visa Signature Credit Card is not a card we'd recommend beginners—or those under 5/24. There are much better ways to earn miles for Flying Blue with some of our other ToP cards. But for those who have 5/24 in the rearview mirror, it might be a different story.
The current welcome offer could be worth almost a business class flight to Europe. It is worth noting that the offer has been as high as 100,000 points so might be worth holding out for.
