Instacart Mastercard Promotion
Just what we needed, more Instacart credits! I am half joking there, but there is no doubt that people seem to fall over themselves for these things. While most of that cheer is focused on the Chase card Instacart credits it looks like there is a way for more people to get in on the fun. That is because there is a new Instacart Mastercard promotion. The best part? This one isn't locked in to any bank in particular.
Offer Details
Instacart and Mastercard partnered to launch a new embedded offer where eligible US Mastercard® credit or debit card holders are eligible for 3 free months of Instacart+ and $10 off their 2nd qualifying order each month.
This offer begins September 1, 2025, and must be redeemed by January 31, 2027.
To qualify for 3 free months of Instacart+, you must:
- Have an eligible US Mastercard® credit or debit card when claiming the offer.
- Not be an active Instacart+ member or have held an Instacart+ membership on or after September 1, 2025.
To qualify for the monthly $10 offer, you must:
- Redeem the offer using an eligible US Mastercard® credit or debit card.
- Place an order with an eligible US Mastercard® credit or debit card.
- Remain an active Instacart+ member enrolled with an eligible Mastercard.
- The $10 coupon applies to a second order paid with an eligible US Mastercard® credit or debit card.
- Instacart+ members prior to September 1, 2025, who have a US Mastercard debit card are not eligible for the monthly $20 offer.
Note: Qualifying orders must be paid for with the same card type that was enrolled. For example, if you enrolled an eligible Mastercard credit card, both qualifying orders must be paid for with any eligible Mastercard credit card (the eligible Mastercard doesn’t necessarily have to be the one you enrolled). The $10 off automatically applies at checkout, regardless of other active promotions. The $10 off doesn’t apply to any alcohol or Rx items in your order and does not apply to restaurant orders. The discount expires at the end of each calendar month in which it was earned if unused.

Notable Terms & Conditions
Here are some notable terms of the Instacart Mastercard promotion:
- This offer for three months of free Instacart+ membership (the “Mastercard Instacart+ Offer”) is available to you if you currently have an eligible Mastercard US Credit card or Mastercard US Debit card and do not have an active Instacart+ membership on or after September 1, 2025 (with the exception of certain free Instacart+ trials offered by Instacart).
- The Mastercard Instacart+ Offer is valid for only one eligible Mastercard card per Instacart account and entitles the primary cardmember to three free months of an Instacart+ membership if eligible.
- You may cancel your subscription on the Your Instacart+ Membership page by clicking “Cancel Membership”.
- You may cancel your annual Instacart+ membership within the first five (5) calendar days of your paid Instacart+ membership term and receive a refund of the Instacart+ membership fee you paid, but only if you have not placed any orders using your Instacart+ membership.
- Eligible Mastercard US Credit cardholders who are new or existing Instacart+ users and Mastercard US Debit cardholders who are new to Instacart+ as of September 1, 2025 can receive $10 off on their second qualifying order of $10 or more, each month (“$10 Mastercard Offer”).
- This offer is valid for only one eligible Mastercard card per Instacart account.
- The coupon will automatically apply to your second qualifying order each month on the Instacart app or Instacart.com; excludes restaurant orders.
- To qualify each month, you must
- (i) complete two Instacart orders, with a $10 minimum amount per order at one retailer (excluding any fees, taxes or tips), within that same month and paying with the same eligible enrolled card type (i.e. Mastercard US Debit card or Mastercard US Credit card) (excludes purchases made using Apple Pay, PayPal and other forms of digital wallets or PayPal as payment method) and
- (ii) complete both orders while you are an Instacart+ member.
- These offers expires January 31, 2027.
It doesn't appear that you need to activate anything to take advantage of the $10 a month credit. Using an eligible Mastercard credit card twice in a month should trigger it automatically.

Instacart Mastercard Promotion: ToP Thoughts
I don't use Instacart myself, so I can't give any firsthand experience here. From reading the tea leaves it appears there are two parts to this offer. The first is for 3 months of free Instacart+ membership. Many people likely already have this from their Chase cards, but maybe you could activate this after those free memberships end. It is worth a try at least (since the terms say that shouldn't be possible). The second part of this Instacart Mastercard promotion is the $10 off your second order each month. I believe that you should be able to get this even if you have an Instacart+ membership. It just requires that you make a couple of $10+ purchases on Instacart in a month with a Mastercard credit card. That should hopefully double dip with any Chase cards you have that are Mastercard. You can get your Chase discount on the first order, and then $10 should hit your second order that month when using the same card. At least that is how I am reading all of this. Share your personal experience over in the ToP Facebook Group.
