Stacking Chase Edit And Select Hotels Credits
Those with select Chase premium cards have up to $750 in hotel credits to burn through the end of 2026. Chase introduced The Edit credits last summer as part of the revamp of the Chase Sapphire Reserve card and the rollout of the Sapphire Reserve for Business. The program was then refreshed to introduce a new $250 credit for select hotels in 2026. Track down the right properties, and these credits can be wins for your travels. It can take a bit of digging, though. We get a lot of questions in the group about how to make reservations and how to best combine available credits. Let's take a look at stacking Chase Edit and select hotels credits. Photos courtesy World of Hyatt and Chase.

The Edit
First, let's revisit how The Edit credits work and answer some common questions. Those who hold the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Reserve For Business or the J.P. Morgan Reserve credit cards can access two annual $250 statement credits for a maximum accumulation of $500. There are several methods for stacking Chase Edit and select hotels credits.
How to find which hotels are included in The Edit
Login to your account. On your dashboard, tap these buttons to search by region:
- App: “Benefits & travel” on the bottom menu -> “Book travel” -> “Discover The Edit”
- Web: “Benefits & travel” on the top menu -> “Travel” -> “Discover The Edit”
When searching a destination through the Chase Travel portal, the hotels will also be labeled “The Edit.” They are typically the first properties that come up when searching. Note that your credits are available for prepaid “Pay Now” bookings.

What benefits come with booking an Edit property?
- $100 property credit per stay to use on eligible dining, spa or other activities
- Note that this can sometimes vary by property.
- Early check-in + late check-out (when available)
- Room upgrade (when available)
- Daily breakfast for 2
- Complimentary wi-fi
- Welcome amenity (At some properties)
Terms say benefits may be subject to availability at check-in and cannot be combined with other offers or packages.
How long do stays have to be to qualify for The Edit benefits?
You need to book at least 2 consecutive nights to earn the $250 credit. However, you can still book a 1-night stay and get the other Edit benefits listed above, including breakfast and the $100 property credit. You just won't be able to get the $250 credit back for it.
Are these stays loyalty eligible?
Yes. One of the best things about this program is the ability to earn elite night credits and use your status benefits with participating hotel programs. The listing will denote loyalty eligibility under the hotel name. Check out the mini hotel reviews our team members wrote after using Edit credits at two Hyatt properties, Thompson Seattle and Thompson Houston.

How to pay with a mix of points, credits and cash
At checkout, select the amount of points you want to pay with. Make sure the cash balance still shows at least $250 minimum, which will be required to trigger The Edit credits. Check out Derrick's demonstration of how to add the points to your booking. If you are also stacking credits on an eligible Chase Travel select hotels property, ensure the minimum is $500 so you will trigger both. You can sometimes get strong value for your points depending on if there is a good Points Boost multiplier available. Points Boost rates can fluctuate.

Can you earn Chase points on The Edit stays?
If the stay qualifies for the $250 credits, it will not earn points, according to the terms. Other Edit stays (beyond ones used to redeem the $250 credits) will earn points.
How long will the credit(s) take to post?
Terms say statement credits should post to your account within 3 business days but may take up to 4 weeks. In our experience, the credits post quickly.
If you cancel your stay, will Chase claw back the credits? Will you get the credits back to use again?
The terms say the bank may reverse statement credits if an eligible purchase is returned, canceled or modified, or if the cardholder closes their account within 90 days of receiving a statement credit. It may take up to 6-8 weeks to get the credits back, though—YMMV.

Chase Travel Select Hotels $250 Credit
If you're interested in stacking Chase Edit and select hotels credits, remember the $250 annual statement credit for select Chase Travel hotel bookings is a one-time credit for 2026. It debuted back in January and can be used now through Dec. 31, 2026. The credit is cumulative, which means if you don’t use the full $250 in one stay, the remainder can be applied to others.
Which hotels qualify?
Select hotels from these brands are eligible. The terms say “Individual property exclusions may apply, look for eligibility when you book.” When searching a destination through the Chase Travel portal, look for the “The Edit” banner plus a marker that says “Eligible for $250 select hotel credit.”
- IHG Hotels & Resorts
- Montage Hotels & Resorts
- Pendry Hotels & Resorts
- Omni Hotels & Resorts
- Virgin Hotels
- Minor Hotels
- Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts

What are the terms on these stays?
Stays must be 2 nights or more. They must be prepaid in full. Purchases can be made by an AU. Credits may take 6-8 weeks to appear on your billing statement.
Are these loyalty eligible also?
Yes, you can earn points, elite night credits and status benefits with the brand. Purchases with this credit will not earn Chase Ultimate Rewards, though.
Stacking + Other Questions
There are several strategies for stacking Chase Edit and select hotels credits. After adding a select hotels property to your cart, ensure the cash balance shows at least a $500 minimum, which will be required to trigger one of The Edit $250 credits plus the $250 select hotels credit. Similar to the method for using one $250 Edit credit, you can also input points as needed, especially if you have a good Points Boost multiplier available. Points Boost rates can fluctuate.

Can you stack credits and redeem on back-to-back nights?
Yes. You can book back-to-back stays and redeem all three credits (two $250 Edit credits and one $250 select hotels credit). You will have to book at least 4 nights, since each Edit credit requires a 2-night stay. Reserve them separately in order to trigger the credits. You can also book back-to-back stays at the same property on two separate accounts. If the property combines your reservations so you can stay in the same room, YMMV with whether that property will honor the $100 property credit on the second stay.
What order will the credits post?
This can vary, but we generally recommend using your $300 annual travel credit first so it's not deducted before your hotel-specific credits. If you're booking a hotel that qualifies for the select hotels credit, we'd suggest ensuring the cash total is at least $500 to ensure both The Edit and hotels credit trigger at once. That way, you don't have to worry about the order in which those are deducted from your account.
Can you stack Amex FHR/THC credits with Chase Edit credits at the same property?
Since they are separate bookings, this should generally work. If the property links your reservations so you don’t have to move rooms, which property credits and benefits you receive may vary by property/situation.
What makes The Edit and select Chase Travel Hotel bookings different from typical portal bookings?
Similar to bookings with Amex's Fine Hotels & Resorts and The Hotel Collection programs, these are via the Chase Luxury Travel Agency and, like booking through any other luxury travel agency, they are not equivalent to the OTA bookings we regularly caution against. They are loyalty-eligible bookings. Because you'll add your account number to the stays, they will typically show up in your account so you can manage them directly with the hotel via its website and/or app.
Why are The Edit stays more expensive than portal stays booked using other Chase cards or direct bookings through the hotels?
The Edit is a luxury booking that includes several benefits a regular portal or direct booking may not. The luxury rate can add extra value for those who don’t have elite hotel status with that hotel brand. Chase is also in the process of beta testing a price matching program, which will include The Edit.
