Flying Blue Status Match

Want SkyTeam elite status? There's a limited-time Flying Blue status match that can help you get there. US residents who have status with about 20 different airlines can fill out the 60-second form and be approved within a few days. This is a paid status match, with fees ranging from $99-$199 for the US-eligible levels. Your newly acquired status will bring perks like free checked bags and seat selection on Air France and KLM flights, plus elite perks for SkyTeam member airlines like Delta. As long as you think you'll use the benefits enough times to justify the cost, this could be well worth it. But think quick! There is no advertised end date for the offer, but status matches tend to disappear quickly and with no notice. So if you're interested in applying, hop on it. Let's dig into the details of the Flying Blue status match opportunity. UPDATE 6/12/26: We expect this status match offer to expire at the end of the day on Saturday, June 13.

Importantly, Flying Blue status also grants elite status across SkyTeam airlines (SkyTeam Elite for Flying Blue Silver and SkyTeam Elite Plus for Flying Blue Gold). This may be attractive to those who regularly fly Delta. (Hello, Medallion status.) Here's what Silver and Gold Flying Blue status will afford you:

Silver Status

  • 6 miles per euro spent on Air France and KLM flights and add-ons, excluding taxes and fees
  • Priority bag drop and check-in
  • Free standard seat selection, plus free seat options 24 hours before your flight
  • 1 free additional checked bag on SkyTeam flights

Gold Status

  • 7 miles per euro spent on Air France and KLM flights and add-ons, excluding taxes and fees
  • Complimentary access for you and a guest to global SkyTeam lounges (terms apply)
  • SkyPriority access throughout the airport
  • Free standard seat selection, plus more free seat options 72 hours before your flight
  • 1 free additional checked bag on SkyTeam flights

Note that Platinum Status is not available to US residents as part of this promotion, but there is a potential for you to reach it faster after achieving Silver or Gold status. Check out the full Flying Blue chart of status benefits here.

Flying Blue Status Match: ToP Thoughts

Status matches can be an easier route to accessing perks on other airlines, as both Rick and Derrick have detailed about their recent status match challenges. Flying Blue is a hugely popular program for booking high-value award flights on Air France and KLM and their partners, and this would be a nice way to double-dip elite benefits with other SkyTeam members like Delta, too. Just make sure you have travel plans that will help you make use of the benefits over the next 12 months—because once you've achieved this one, you won't be eligible for another status match from Flying Blue.
