How To Apply For The Status Match

Here's how to complete the Flying Blue status match:

  • First, a Flying Blue account is required. We recommend that you create airline loyalty accounts ahead of time, anyway, and this is a great one to have. You can sign up for free at FlyingBlue.com.
  • Next, navigate to the Offer Landing Page.
  • Review the chart below to determine your best status match opportunity based on status you already have with eligible airlines.
  • Pay the required fee.
    • For U.S. residents, it costs $99 to match to Silver and $199 to match to Gold.
  • You'll get an update on your approval status within 3 business days after application completion.
    • If approved, expect to see your new status reflected within 5 business days.

What The Flying Blue Status Match Offers

If you're approved for the Flying Blue status match, you'll hold that status for 12 months. To retain your status afterward, you'll have to re-qualify with the latest Flying Blue requirements. Importantly, Flying Blue status also grants elite status across SkyTeam airlines (SkyTeam Elite for Flying Blue Silver and SkyTeam Elite Plus for Flying Blue Gold). This may be attractive to those who regularly fly Delta. (Hello, Medallion status.) Here's what Silver and Gold Flying Blue status will afford you:

Silver Status

  • 6 miles per euro spent on Air France and KLM flights and add-ons, excluding taxes and fees
  • Priority bag drop and check-in

Gold Status

  • 7 miles per euro spent on Air France and KLM flights and add-ons, excluding taxes and fees
  • Complimentary access for you and a guest to global SkyTeam lounges (terms apply)
  • SkyPriority access throughout the airport
  • Free standard seat selection, plus more free seat options 72 hours before your flight
  • 1 free additional checked bag on SkyTeam flights

Terms Of The Status Match

Here are the other notable terms of the Flying Blue status match:

  • 1 status match per person permitted to either the Gold or Silver tiers. (Platinum is not available to US residents.)
  • Must have valid a US ID. You name must exactly match the one listed in your Flying Blue account.
  • Status match requests are processed by StatusMatch.com and not by Flying Blue or its affiliates, though data may be shared with Flying Blue. (See full privacy policy.)
  • The status match is limited and may end at any time.
  • Members who are approved will not be eligible for any future status matches with Flying Blue.
  • The status match can be denied, suspended, revoked or terminated at Flying Blue's discretion.
  • No physical status card will be issued.
