Chase Travel Price Match Guarantee
Chase is in the process of rolling out a price matching feature for bookings made through Chase Travel. With the Chase Travel price match guarantee, eligible cardholders who find a lower rate elsewhere after booking a prepaid hotel through Chase Travel can get a refund for the price difference. And yes, it will work for reservations made through The Edit premium hotel program. The move follows others like Capital One Travel, which also offers a similar price match guarantee. As of April 24, the Chase Travel price match feature is currently available in beta to select Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business and Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders, Chase confirmed to ToP. Chase did not share details on timing for the full rollout—or whether this feature will ever be available to other cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred. How The Chase Travel Price Match Guarantee Works
If you're targeted for the beta testing, you'll see a banner about the price match guarantee when you load Chase Travel. Afterward, the process for getting a refund is fairly straightforward. If you find a better rate for the same hotel room within 24 hours of booking through Chase Travel, you can submit an online claim to get a refund for the difference. You'll need to include the following details:
- Website URL for the lower room rate
- Price of the lower room rate (in USD)
- Screenshot of the lower rate and all matching parameters, including room type, number of guests, currency, date(s) of stay and cancelation/refund policies
Once your claim is approved, Chase will issue you a refund to your original form of payment within one to two billing cycles. With the Chase Travel price match guarantee, there are a few other requirements to keep in mind:
- Only prepaid hotel bookings are eligible for the price match guarantee.
- You must be a Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Reserve for Business cardholder to have access to the price match feature
- The price match is only for hotel bookings made through Chase Travel. Flights and other travel bookings made through Chase's travel portal are not eligible for refunds.
Is Price Matching Available On The Edit By Chase Bookings?
The price match guarantee is also available for The Edit by Chase Travel bookings. The Edit is a curated collection of hotels available exclusively to Chase Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Reserve for Business and JPMorgan Reserve Cardmembers. Cardholders get exclusive rates and elite-like benefits at these properties when booked through Chase Travel. Notable benefits include early check-in and late checkout, room upgrades, a $100 property credit, free breakfast and more.
Chase has confirmed to ToP that these bookings are eligible for a price match. So if you find a better rate elsewhere for one of these properties, you can submit a claim and get a refund for the difference. All that while keeping the benefits of booking these luxury properties through Chase Travel.
Chase Travel Price Match Guarantee: ToP Thoughts
You'll often see higher rates when booking through a third-party portal like Chase Travel. So the price match guarantee is likely a welcome feature for eligible Chase cardholders. It's exciting that the price match guarantee applies to bookings in Chase's luxury hotel collection, The Edit, too. We always recommend price shopping, but this might allow you to do a little less of it.
