Why The Refer A Friend Offer Is Better
There is no confusing things this time around, as the referral offer is easily $300 better. At least if you value portal credits at face value. Even though I am not a huge fan of portal bookings I wouldn't turn down an extra $300 in potential value. It is nice that you get a year to use it too. That could come in handy if you are staying at a non-chain hotel where your elite nights, points earning and status perks don't matter.
Capital One Application Rules

Capital One generally will only approve you for one card every six months. This rule applies to both personal and business cards, meaning you cannot open a personal card and a business card within six months of each other (most of the time).
Additionally, Capital One has a two-card maximum, regardless of personal or business. It is difficult to hold more than 2 Capital One cards at a time (although sometimes possible).
We should also note that this card is best to get once you are over Chase 5/24.
