Virgin Atlantic Award Sale: Is It Worth It?
It can be easy to take advantage of this offer. Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points are some of the easiest points to earn. They are a transfer partner of Amex, Bilt, Capital One, Chase, and Citi. Virgin Atlantic also has a robust route network serving the US.
The main drawback of Virgin Atlantic redemptions is that the airline imposes steep carrier-imposed surcharges, especially for business class awards. But even with the high cash cost, this sale can still make sense if you crunch the numbers for yourself. For what it's worth, Virgin Atlantic's upper class seat in their newer A330neo planes is one of my favorite business class seats.
For those looking to fly in economy, this sale makes getting to Europe a downright steal.
Virgin Atlantic Award Sale: ToP Thoughts
Virgin Atlantic is no stranger to award sales like this one as we have seen similar ones before. I don't recall seeing one for 40% off, though, so this is particularly neat. If you're willing to stomach the high surcharges for upper class redemptions or you don't mind flying economy or premium economy, then you should give this sale a hard look! Also remember that Virgin Atlantic Flying Club also has a pretty flexible cancelation policy.
