Hyatt To MGM Rewards Status Match
I shared some depressing news yesterday, that the Hyatt and MGM Rewards partnership was coming to an end this fall. That was a productive partnership for World of Hyatt status seekers or for Vegas lovers that wanted to avoid massive resort fees. You still have some time to take advantage of this partnership, and their status levels, but you have to do the Hyatt to MGM Rewards status match now. The access to this will end on July 14th, even though the partnership won't end until September 30th, 2023.

ToggleSince there are only a few days left to complete this, I figured I would put together a step by step guide. This is for any of those procrastinators out there (hi, it's me). If you complete the status match you will have MGM Rewards status until January 31, 2024. If you don't have a MGM Rewards account already, set that up now.
Update 7/14/23: This is your absolute last chance to get this done.
Step By Step Guide: How To Match Hyatt Status To MGM Rewards
Let's get into it then. This is only useful if you have World of Hyatt Explorist or Globalist status. Anything below MGM Rewards Gold isn't really worth the effort, even as minimal as the effort required is. You also can't do this online with matched status from the Bilt Rewards promotion, unless you have earned it already via that promo. You can however do it in person if you have a MGM casino near you (doesn't need to be in Vegas).
Step One
Set up a MGM Rewards account first and foremost if you don't already have one. You can do that HERE.
Step Two (Which You Can Skip)
The first place you can go is to the Hyatt to MGM Rewards status match landing page. This gives you more details on the partnership and the match, but you don't really need to go here. You can skip to Step 2 if you don't want to get more detail on the program. If you do go here hit the Learn More button.
Step Three (Or Your Step One)
This is the link you will get sent to from the landing page discussed in Step 1. You will log into your Hyatt account at this point.
Step Four
Once logged into your World of Hyatt account they will take you to a new landing page, pictured above. Select Opt In.
Step Five
You will now be prompted to log into your MGM Rewards account. If you logged into it already in another open tab then it will automatically do it. Once that happens it will inform you that your status will update within 24 hours. It is usually instant though, and if you log out and log back in it should show your Gold status (as pictured below).
What About In The Future?
If you would like to keep MGM Rewards Gold past January of next year the options are pretty slim. There are a few match opportunities for Caesar Rewards to MGM Rewards, if you have status with Caesars from your Wyndham Business Earner card, but it is only in select areas (Atlantic City and California). Plus, the Atlantic City match is slated to end this month I believe. Either is unlikely it is a permanent thing you can rely on anyway. The one option that seems to be available is matching from some cruise programs status. If you have some higher tier status with a cruise line then I would look into this.
Hyatt To MGM Rewards Status Match: ToP Thoughts
Hopefully this step by step guide got you through this simple process easily. Even if you are not sure you will use the status I would still perform the match. Since it is going away there is no coming back to it later should you need it. It is always better to have something and not need it versus need something and not have it. Especially when it only takes a minute or two to complete.
