Transfer Wells Fargo Rewards to Others

Wells Fargo entered the world of transferrable currencies in 2024. The Wells Fargo Autograph Journey card made a big splash, with a nice signup bonus and earnings up to 5x per dollar. At the same time, Wells Fargo introduced around a half dozen transfer partners. You can always view those on our ToP Partner Transfer Tool. Even better, you can transfer Wells Fargo Rewards to others. We walk you through how to do that below.

Why This Matters

The policies to transfer Wells Fargo Rewards to others is easily the most generous among all of the banks. Remember, you can view the points sharing/combining/gifting policies of all transferrable currency banks here. Not only does Wells Fargo allow you to transfer to any customer, but it makes it extremely easy and without any significant restrictions. You can either redeem for cash, statement credit, or you can transfer to another person's credit card account and combine miles to later transfer to partner loyalty accounts.

Rules for Transferring to Others

There are two ways to transfer Wells Fargo Rewards to others. You can either redeem rewards as a gift or you can transfer rewards as a gift. We outline each of these separately.

Redeem Rewards as a Gift

If you choose to redeem rewards as a gift, you can transfer Wells Fargo Rewards to others with the following restrictions:

  • must transfer in increments of 2,500
  • no maximum limit
  • redeemable to any Wells Fargo customer
  • redeemable to a credit card, checking, savings, money market, line of credit or mortgage account
  • Rewards are redeemed at $0.01 each

That's right, you can redeem your points for someone else's mortgage. Is that the best use of your points? Maybe or maybe not, but it is a fantastic option when in a pinch.

Transfer Wells Fargo Rewards to Others: ToP Thoughts

I must admit that when I began this article, I had no idea that you can transfer Wells Fargo Rewards to pay someone's mortgage (or really any Wells Fargo account). It is clear that Wells Fargo has, by far, the most generous gifting/sharing rules of any major bank. These restrictions, or lack thereof, may change my earning strategy over the next few months. In any event, transferring/combing your Wells Fargo rewards with any other Wells Fargo customer or redeeming your points for any customers' accounts is extremely generous and industry-leading.
