The Edit By Chase Travel℠
Did you know you can enjoy luxury hotels, with upgrades and benefits, without having any hotel status? It's true. The most well-known way to pull this off is to use a luxury travel agent to book your stay (ToP can help with this!). Another way is hotel booking programs from credit card companies. While many might be familiar with the American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) program, many might not realize Chase has a similar program too. Only Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Reserve Business Card and JPMorgan Reserve Cardmembers are eligible for The Edit by Chase Travel℠ benefits.
This luxury hotel program has gone through many transitions and name changes through the years. With the refresh of cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve and the all-new Sapphire Reserve for Business, the program has been thrust back into the spotlight. It will be hard not to compare it to the FHR program, but I thought this would be a good time to go over the program and how these card credits work. Finally, Chase not only made changes after the card refresh, but changed some things again for 2026. These changes started January 1, 2026. 8/19/26 Update: Chase removed the recently added language about back-to-back credits from the benefits page. But does this mean we're in the clear? Check out our analysis in the “Using Multiple Credits” section below.
The Edit by Chase Travel℠ is Better Than Ever
The Chase Sapphire Reserve, the all-new Sapphire Reserve for Business , and J.P Morgan personal cards each come with up to $500 in credits each calendar year for The Edit by Chase Travel℠. Receive up to $250 in statement credits (per transaction) from January 1 through December 31 of each calendar year for a total maximum accumulation of $500 in statement credits. This credit applies to prepaid bookings for 2 nights or more at hotels in The Edit program.
The full terms & conditions of the credit card credits are:
- Maximum $500 credit annually for “Prepaid Now” bookings.
- A calendar year refers to January 1 through December 31 of that same year. Statement credit ends at 11:59 PM ET on the last day of the period.
- Qualifying purchases are when you or an authorized user of the account uses the card for pre-paid “Pay Now” stays of 2 nights or more at a qualifying property. This is an important one, especially if you are a procrastinator. That's when you make the charge technically, but if anything is delayed into the next year, it will count for that next year's credit.
- The $500 credit for stays with The Edit is automatically loaded into your account and must be available at the time qualifying purchases are made to be applied to your account. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for the statement credit(s) to appear on your monthly credit card billing statement.
- We may reverse statement credits if an eligible purchase is returned, canceled, or modified, or if you close your account within 90 days of receiving a statement credit. Any purchases that qualify for the $500 Credit for stays with The Edit will not earn points.
Many also ask about cancelling a reservation. Per the terms and conditons:
- To modify a reservation, you must cancel and rebook within the property’s cancellation window at Chase Travel or by calling the number on your travel itinerary. If you cancel, your The Edit credit will be returned and will auto-apply to a new reservation. If your reservation is canceled, you won’t earn Ultimate Rewards points for it, and any points issued at booking will be deducted from your account.
Using Multiple Credits
(UPDATE 8/19/26) Chase recently caused a big tizzy when it added the following language to the benefits page for The Edit: “Back-to-back stays at the same property within 24 hours of checkout are considered a single stay, and only the first stay is eligible for the credit”. Chase since removed that language from the page, however. And according to various sources, a Chase representative confirmed that back-to-back stays are eligible for both credits.
However receiving the benefits (more about that below) for both stays is a different matter. In fact, the Travel Terms and Conditions page for The Edit indicate that you will not receive the benefits for the program on back-to-back stays.
We cannot locate a working external link for this page. So instead, we'll tell you how to navigate to it:
- Go to The Edit landing page
- At the bottom of the page under “Find Answers”, Select “See FAQs”
- On the FAQ page, Select “What are The Edit benefits?”
- There you'll see this screenshot which has a link to “The Edit Travel Terms and Conditions”

That link takes you to a page that as far as we can tell, can't be found anywhere else on the Chase site. Importantly, it lists the terms and conditions for The Edit program as the last section on the page. Amidst the various terms and conditions on that page is this sentence: “Back-to-back stays booked by an eligible customer at the same property are considered one stay and the second stay is not eligible to receive the program benefits.”

So while you will receive both $250 credits for back-to-back stays, you may not receive the benefits again for the second stay.
Benefits
Here are some of the notable benefits of The Edit by Chase Travel℠ bookings. You get some included benefits with the hotel booking, which include:
- $100 property credit (dining, spa, or other activities)
- Early Check-in when available
- Room upgrade when available
- Daily breakfast for two
- Late check-out when available
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
- Welcome Amenity (This is listed on some hotel bookings but not on the benefits page)
Keep in mind that the $100 credit is per stay and not per night. This differs from the breakfast benefit, which is daily.

Stacking Hotel Elite Status With Your Booking
The Edit by Chase Travel℠ is a Luxury travel booking (not like a normal portal booking) and a eligible rate for earning hotel loyalty points, elite nights, and stacking any program's elite benefits for which you qualify. You can confirm this on the main page when booking a property by The Edit. The beauty of these bookings (and FHR, luxury travel agencies, etc.) is that they are not considered “portal bookings” or via an OTA (online travel agency). Rather, they are direct rates with the underlying hotel programs.

You simply need to enter your loyalty number and should receive your benefits. Sometimes these things can vary, so it's always good to verify your loyalty number is attached at check-in. Once you confirm the booking, it should be visible both in Chase Travel℠ and in your account for the underlying hotel program's website/app. Always good to double check for this to make sure its there. If not, you can confirm with the property.

Stacking New Hotel Credit
There is one more stack you can make. As I mentioned, Chase has been adding and making changes to their card benefits. One of those new benefits and perks is available to Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders beginning January 1, 2026. This is not part of the Edit credit, but rather a separate benefit. That being said, with the $250 Credit for select Chase Travel Hotels, you can earn up to $250 in statement credits for the following hotel brands booked via Chase Travel.
- IHG® Hotels & Resorts
- Minor Hotels
- Montage Hotels & Resorts
- Omni Hotels & Resorts
- Pan Pacific Hotels and Resort
- Pendry Hotels & Resorts
- Virgin Hotels
This means if you have a $500 booking with a Edit Hotel booking that is also one of these hotel brands, you would the $250 Edit credit and the $250 Hotel credit!
ToP Tip: It is worth noting if you have not used your $300 travel credit, this could be used as well. The Chase site states the credit should cover any remaining balance after the above credits. Unfortunately, the data points can vary slightly and you do not get to choose which order the credits will apply.
How To Book Your Stay With The Edit
First, you must log in from the landing page. For me, this is one of the most frustrating things about this program. Why? This is because Chase requires 2 factor authentication and may log you out frequently. It's identical to being logged into your credit card account. You can also access it from your account or app. This will slow down the search process for hotels. There are many different online resources out there, but always verify directly by logging in.

Searching
Once you are logged in, a search screen appears to enter your city and dates. This is similar to most other hotel booking screens. Also, a nice feature, it may have your previous searches below that.

For this search, I used a Thursday to Saturday night in Seattle. Once you search, you may have multiple hotels that come up. I focused on the Kimpton Palladian Hotel. With a two night minimum, the cheapest I could find was $201 per night with taxes and fees and a total of $524. After a $250 credit, my cost would be $274 for two nights. But don't forget, we can get this price lower with points. More on that later. You can also use some filters to narrow down choices. One feature I have not seen is being able to sort just by Edit Hotels. That being said, they seem to populate first in all my searches.

Your benefits will also display again on this screen and you can click on the “and more” to see those. Remember the welcome amenity I mentioned earlier? It does not show here for the Kimpton, but it does show when you click on “learn more.” For this hotel, guaranteed late check-out shows up, which is not the case with all hotels.
Points Boost
Another item to note on the results screen is the “Points Boost,” a new feature Chase has rolled out. This is displayed anytime you get more value with your points than the normal 1 cent per point value. Bookings were originally giving two cents per point with this, but Chase clarified that later. Chase is no longer saying you will get 2 cents per point, but rather “up to.” My most recent booking was right at 1.6 cents per point.

Once you choose the hotel and proceed, it will let you choose a variety of rooms at different prices. This gives you the option to book something nicer if you want to guarantee a nicer room. I stuck with the base-priced room.

Checkout
When you go to checkout and pay, you will want to make sure you always use “Pay Now” if you want to use your $250 Edit credit. For regular bookings, you can use the pay later feature if you want. One of the great things about these bookings and having the credit is the new Points Boost. In this example, I can apply points to offset the cost at that same 1.6 cents per point. I used 16,500 points, which took $272.25 off the total price, bringing it down to $251.38 left to charge on my card with the $250 credit. The total out of pocket in this example is 16,500 points and $1.38 for a two night stay plus all those benefits! Not too bad at all.

The next screen you will enter your traveler information and that loyalty number we mentioned. You can enter anyone's info here. You simply click where it says your name and there is a drop down. This is convenient if you need to book for family or friends. This is also normal in the regular portal as well. It's worth noting that the terms and conditions, as of August 18, 2026) do not address whether a cardmember must be traveling or if there are back-to-back stay restrictions similar to those with FHR.
A Few Tips And Where To Book For The Edit by Chase Travel℠ Collection Bookings
Many people might think you cannot find hotels in a good price range to use these credits. This is just not true and there can be great value. While yes, you might need some flexibility, there are options. If you have two cards with the credit, you should be able to do back-to-back two-night stays. As with FHR, I expect to see a rule on this eventually, but it might be less common with the two-night minimum. You also want something that you will not need to cancel, especially if you are using credits that expire such as using 2026 credits for 2027.
I was able to find several cities with hotels in the $200-$300 range per night. Finally, with the Points Boost “potential”, I think it is easier to offset costs than other programs and get value, as I showed in the Seattle example. Hopefully Chase does not go the route of Amex where 1 cent per point or less is the norm.

The Edit By Chase Travel℠: ToP Thoughts
Using these “coupon-like” benefits of premium cards has become a regular thing and a necessity for many to justify the annual fees. For better or worse, these benefits are not going away anytime soon, so it's best to embrace these credits and make the most of them. With The Edit, there are plenty of good uses for the $500 in credits, whether it's a staycation or a weekend away. Using The Edit By Chase Travel℠ can add value, especially with the points boost, credits, and stacking loyalty benefits and credit card perks!
