New Hyatt Offerings
Are you ready for this? After a long wait, World of Hyatt members will finally be able to make digital points transfers starting tomorrow, October 15, 2026. The exciting (and long overdue) change comes as Hyatt also announces two expansions of its partnership with the Air Canada Aeroplan program. World of Hyatt members can earn Aeroplan points on ToP of their usual World of Hyatt earnings, and there’s a fun Aeroplan Elite Status Challenge you may want to register for. Here’s what you need to know about all of these new Hyatt offerings.
Digital Points Transfers Start Tomorrow
First, the news we have been waiting for (almost) all year: Starting October 15, 2026, World of Hyatt members will finally be able to transfer points directly to another member through Hyatt’s website. This is the most long-awaited update among these new Hyatt offerings. The change was actually teased back when we first learned of this year’s major Hyatt award chart devaluation, and we’ve been waiting for it to roll out ever since. The digital transfers will replace the archaic current process, which requires an email submission of a PDF form—and sometimes long waits. Going forward, members will instead be able to make transfers directly through Hyatt.com. Currently, a World of Hyatt member may only participate in one point-combining transaction once every 30 days. We don’t yet know if that restriction will change. Be sure to check back in tomorrow with the ToP blog, where we’ll detail in full how the new process will work.

New Dual Earning Opportunity: Bonus Aeroplan Points on Hyatt Stays
Aeroplan has also launched some new Hyatt offerings, including a limited-time offer that will allow members to earn points in both loyalty programs on qualifying Hyatt stays. Here’s how it works:
- Link your World of Hyatt and Aeroplan accounts here.
- Register for the promotion here between October 14, 2026, and November 11, 2026.
- Earn 1.5 bonus Aeroplan points per eligible $1 USD spent at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide.
- Earn on qualifying stays completed between October 14, 2026, through February 14, 2027.
A qualifying Hyatt stay with $300 in eligible spending would earn 450 bonus Aeroplan points. The Aeroplan points are earned in addition to the standard World of Hyatt points members earn on stays, which means that same stay would also earn 1,500 World of Hyatt base points. (Members can earn 5 base points per $1 spent at most participating Hyatt properties.) This is a nice win-win, especially since you can earn in both programs at once. Note that only the eligible spending associated with the member’s occupied room qualifies and that these bonus points do not count toward Aeroplan Status Qualifying Credits (SQC).

Aeroplan Elite Status Challenge
In addition to the bonus points promotion, World of Hyatt Explorist and Globalist members can access a status challenge that provides a fast path to Air Canada elite status. This is one of the new Hyatt offerings that comes courtesy of the new Hyatt-Aeroplan collaboration. Here’s how it works:
- Link your World of Hyatt and Aeroplan accounts here.
- Register for the challenge here. Your 90-day challenge begins when Aeroplan processes the registration, which may take up to 48 hours. You will receive a confirmation email specifying your challenge dates.
- Accumulate the required Status Qualifying Credits (SQC) through eligible Air Canada activity within a 90-day period. Learn more about how to rack up SQC here and here.
- Explorist members can qualify for Aeroplan 25K status. Globalist members can earn up to Aeroplan 75K status, depending on how many qualifying credits they accumulate.
- Here are the SQC requirements for each World of Hyatt and Aeroplan status tier:
| World of Hyatt Status | Required SQC | Aeroplan Status |
|---|---|---|
| Explorist | 8,000 | 25K |
| Globalist | 8,000 | 25K |
| Globalist | 12,000 | 35K |
| Globalist | 17,000 | 50K |
| Globalist | 25,000 | 75K |
Members who register in 2026 and successfully complete the challenge will retain their new Aeroplan Elite Status through January 31, 2028. You can generally participate in only one challenge per calendar year, and your World of Hyatt status at registration determines which challenge you will receive. (So if this interests you and you are working toward Globalist status, you might want to wait to start the challenge.) Learn more here.
