Bilt Transfer Bonus to Hilton
Here at ToP, we love Bilt Rent Day. Every 1st day of the month brings opportunities for bonus miles on all 3 Bilt Credit Cards and an often lucrative transfer bonus. These bonuses sometimes are so good that I've previously planned earning Bilt status around them. For July 2026, however, the Bilt transfer bonus to Hilton Honors is not as valuable as it might seem. Sure, it is an all-time high transfer bonus, depending on your Bilt status. But that doesn't mean it is a good deal. I do love the Bilt Rewards program and that it continually offers unheard-of bonus opportunities. But this is just one you probably should rethink.
July 2026 Bilt Rent Day Bonuses
As we announced last week, the Rent Day festivities for July 2026 include a Bilt transfer bonus to Hilton Honors. The typical transfer rate is 1 Bilt Reward to 1 Hilton Honors (1:1). On July 1, 2026, the bonuses are as follows:
- Blue Status: 75% Bonus (1 to 1.75)
- Silver Status: 100% Bonus (1 to 2)
- Gold Status: 150% Bonus (1 to 2.5)
- Platinum Status: 175% Bonus (1 to 2.75)
- Platinum Status & Upgrade: 200% Bonus (1 to 3)
Remember, you can use $150 of Bilt Cash to upgrade your bonus one status level up from your current level. So if you are Silver Status, for example, you can use $150 Bilt Cash to obtain the Gold Status bonus.

For comparison's sake, Hilton Honors is also a transfer partner of American Express Membership Rewards. The base transfer ratio of that partnership is 1 to 2 (1:2), and there are regular 30% transfer bonuses of 30%, translating to a 1 to 2.6 (1:2.6) ratio. On its face, the Platinum and Platinum + Bilt Cash Upgrade transfer ratios are the all-time high transfer ratios. We'll see lots of influencers, especially on Instagram, TikTok and elsewhere, strongly encourage their followers to dump up to 100,000 Bilt Rewards in their Hilton Honors accounts on Rent Day. That is probably a mistake, even more than are typical speculative transfers.
Reasons To Avoid This Shiny Object
The Bilt transfer bonus to Hilton Honors is the highest ever transfer bonus?! Sign me up. Right? RIGHT?!
Maybe or maybe not. Here are four reasons why you should not fall for this shiny object. Sit out this month's Bilt Rent Day, and keep your Bilt Rewards as Bilt Rewards for now.
Inherent Value of Hilton Honors
Regardless how much you can redeem Hilton Honors for, their value is 0.5 cents per point. It does not matter if you redeem them for 1 cent, 50 cents or $1 each. Their value is only 0.5 cents. Why? Because you can buy them that cheap almost all the time. The current sale includes a 100% bonus and starts at only $50 worth of points. If you decide to transfer 100,000 Bilt Rewards to Hilton Honors, even at the highest transfer ratio of 1:3, you're getting $1,500 in value from those Bilt Rewards. Since most folks are not Bilt Platinum, and redeeming $200 Bilt Cash for the bonus upgrade, most everyone's actual value is far less than this amount.

Insane Redemption Levels
After a series of devaluations from December 2024 throughout 2025, ToP-tier Hilton properties now cost up to 250,000 Hilton Honors points per night for a standard room. Examples of these ToP-tier properties are:
- Waldorf Astoria Pedregal (Cabo San Lucas): starting at 220,000 HHonors per night
- Conrad Bora Bora: starting at 200,000 HHonors per night
- Waldorf Astoria Maldives: starting at 250,000 HHonors per night
- Hermitage Bay (Antigua & Barbuda): from 230,000 HHonors per night
- Canaves Oia or Canavas Epitome (Santorini): from 240,000 HHonors per night
Likewise, even mid-tier properties have seen standard room award rates skyrocket. What was once well under 100,000 Hilton Honors per night is now 150,000 or more. Some examples of these properties:
- Waldorf Astoria Platte Island (Seychelles): starting at 150,000 HHonors per night
- Grand Wailea (Maui): starting at 130,000 HHonors per night
- Roku Kyoto: starting at 140,000 per night
Even lower-tier properties are (comparatively) expensive. Some examples of this:
- Hilton O'Hare Airport: starting at 70,000 HHonors per night
- Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow: starting at 70,000 HHonors per night
- DoubleTree by Hilton New York JFK Airport: starting at 75,000 HHonors per night
In each of these examples, we see values that far exceed competitors' rates for a similar hotel even after a “lucrative” transfer bonus. Those airport hotels at 70K per night still cost 28,000 Bilt Rewards with a 150% transfer bonus and 1:2.5 ratio. The ToP-tier 250,000 point properties listed above cost between 84,000 and 143,000 Bilt Rewards per night. Let that sink in a minute. Prices starting at 84,000 Bilt Rewards per night. And you thought the Hyatt devaluation was bad? This transfer bonus makes those new rates seem like a steal—especially since you could transfer your Bilt Rewards to Hyatt for a better deal anyway.

A Future of Devaluations?
While we don't like to spread rumors at ToP, the writing is on the wall for Hilton Honors. After numerous devaluations in a six-month period in 2024 and 2025, the future likely includes more devaluations. The Hilton CEO even hinted at future increases in an exclusive interview with The Points Guy that we covered in this week's ToP Roundup. I think it is fair to say that Hilton award prices are trending the way of summer temperatures: up, up and upward some more. If you don't immediately use your Hilton Honors points, will we pay 275,000, 300,000 or (gasp!) more than 300,000 Hilton Honors points per night in the not-too-distant future? My money is on “yes” to all those numbers. Even with this all-time high Bilt transfer bonus to Hilton, if you do not quickly/immediately use the points at high value, it is likely you'll end up using far more Bilt Rewards to book any night at a Hilton property than you currently will. Add in the fact that Hiltons are already uncompetitive when considering transferable currencies, and you're just pouring more salt into the wound.
Bilt Rewards Are Too Lucrative
As we regularly talk about at ToP, Bilt Rewards are one of, if not THE most valuable transferable currency. Bilt now has 24 transfer partners, the most of any currency, after adding Preferred Hotels on June 22, 2026. Bilt Rewards has more domestic airline transfer partners than any currency, is the other transfer partner of Hyatt (along with Chase), and has highly lucrative non-award options for its currency. Are you comfortable getting between 0.875 and 1.5 cents per Bilt Reward? I'm certainly not. Even at the 1.5 cent per point threshold, I'd want cash and not a Hilton Honors redemption. At anything else than 1.5 cents each, it is a hard pass. If you're okay with these values, the math might make sense for you. But before you consider a transfer, do the math until you convince yourself it works. In the end, it probably won't. Go use your hard-earned Bilt Rewards elsewhere for more value, like using 55,000 miles to fly one-way in business class to Japan on Japan Airlines!

Bilt Transfer to Hilton: ToP Thoughts
While I applaud Bilt Rewards for offering an unheard-of transfer bonus of up to 1-to-3, I caution everyone to not get “shiny object syndrome.” Sure, there is value to be had in the Hilton Honors award program and there are award gems all over the world that might make sense. But always remember Hilton Honors' inherent (lack of) value and know that you can buy the same points for only 0.5 cents each. Be sure to do the analysis for yourself and know that you are getting incredible value for your Bilt Rewards. Whatever you do, don't simply listen to that online influencer who doesn't have an actual clue about points and miles tell you to dump 100K Bilt Rewards into Hilton. There's probably 0% chance they've done the math. And they count on you not doing the math, either.
