Earning Bilt Gold Status

Every month on Rent Day, we see that Bilt Rewards Status offers increased perks. Whether it is extra perks, extra points, more value for your points, or all of the above, having Bilt status has historically paid off for most. Near the end of 2025, I found myself at a crossroads. We had quite a bit of year-end spend, had mapped out spend for 4 new credit card welcome offers, and wanted to maximize the rest of the spend. After doing a bit of digging, I came up with a plan for earning Bilt Gold status. Here is why I did it and if I regret that decision.

What Is Bilt Status?

Bilt Rewards offers four levels of status:

  • Blue
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum

You earn Bilt Rewards status either by 1) spend, or 2) points earned. The thresholds required for each status level are:

  • Blue: anyone enrolled in Bilt Rewards with under 50,000 Bilt Rewards AND under $10,000 spend in the Bilt ecosytem, excluding housing payments.
  • Silver: 50,000 to 124,999 Bilt Rewards earned OR $10,000 to $24,999 spend in the Bilt ecosystem, excluding housing payments.
  • Gold: 125,000 to 199,999 Bilt Rewards earned OR $25,000 to $49,999 spend in the Bilt ecosystem, excluding housing payments.
  • Platinum: 200,000+ Bilt Rewards earned OR $50,000 spend in the Bilt ecosystem, excluding housing payments.

Why Does Bilt Status Matter?

If you review our Bilt Rent Day article, you quickly see that Bilt status can pay off easily. Last year, for example, there were multiple transfer bonuses where Gold and/or Platinum Bilt Rewards members earned transfer bonuses that were double or triple what Blue members received. One of our favorite bonuses last year was the Accor transfer bonus and Sarah's Gold status gained her a 200% transfer bonus to ALL, meaning her Bilt Rewards transferred at 1 Bilt Reward to 2 ALL points, or a return of 4.8 cents per Bilt point (based on current USD-Euro conversions). Having Bilt Rewards status makes a valuable currency even more valuable.

As with any status, you should evaluate if it makes sense so your situation before dedicating the time, energy and spend to achieving the status.

Earning Bilt Gold Status in 2025

So why did I even consider earning Bilt Gold status in 2025? Sarah was losing her Gold status after having it for a few years, we had a lot of year-end spend that was not allocated to new welcome offers, I was only ~$3,000 away from Gold status, and I really wanted access to Gold-level transfer bonuses in 2026. I know, I know. Nothing is ever guaranteed, especially with transfer bonuses, but Bilt Rewards has built (no pun intended) a track record of rewarding loyalty with eye-popping transfer bonuses for elite members.

Sarah and I discussed it and decided that it probably made sense in our situation. Worst case scenario, we put $3K on a Bilt card, earned 3,000+ Bilt Rewards and the extra status was useless. That worst-case scenario was not all that bad, so I went for it.

My Plans Were Thwarted in Mid-January 2026

After earning Bilt Gold status in late December 2025, I hoped for transfer bonuses throughout the year to reward my loyalty. After a mediocre (at least to me) transfer bonus for January 2026 Rent Day to British Airways, Bilt unveiled its new credit cards in mid-January. Lo and behold, the card that was most enticing, the Bilt Palladium card, includes Bilt Gold status after you hit the sign-up bonus. D'oh! My plans were completely thwarted.

Um, not so fast, my friends!

REDEMPTION! Earning Bilt Gold Status Pays Off

Just days after learning all the details about the 3 new Bilt credit cards, we learned about Bilt Rent Day for February 2026. Our favorite transfer bonus from 2025 returned early in 2026: a transfer bonus to Accor Live Limitless (ALL). If you are not using this program, you are missing out. Since my new Bilt Palladium card wasn't active, I wouldn't have access to the Gold transfer bonus for this promotion.

Rather than transferring my Bilt Rewards to ALL at 3 to 2, my Gold status allowed me to transfer at 6 to 7. For those that are challenged with math, let's breakdown what 100,000 Bilt Rewards transferred to ALL looks like:

  • Normal transfer (3:2): 100,000 Bilt Rewards to 66,667 ALL
  • February Bilt Rent Day Blue Member 25% bonus (6:5): 100,000 Bilt Rewards to 83,333 ALL
  • February Bilt Rent Day Silver Member 25% bonus (1:1): 100,000 Bilt Rewards to 100,000 ALL
  • February Bilt Rent Day Gold Member 25% bonus (6:7): 100,000 Bilt Rewards to 116,667 ALL
  • February Bilt Rent Day Platinum Member 25% bonus (3:4): 100,000 Bilt Rewards to 133,333 ALL

For starters, I nearly doubled the ALL points I would've received without any transfer bonus. Likewise, by transferring 100,000 Bilt Rewards to ALL as a Gold member, I earned an additional 16,667 ALL Rewards points over a Silver member. To state that differently, our $3,162.84 spend on December 21st earned us 3,168 Bilt Rewards, plus 16,667 extra ALL Rewards points during a transfer bonus. That is 19,835 total rewards between Bilt and ALL or a total earn of 6.27x. Yes, that was 100% worth the spend in earning Bilt Gold status. Even if no other transfer bonus makes sense the rest of the year, this one makes it all worthwhile.
