Bilt Overturned Denials

When Bilt launched their 2.0 card (and subsequent 3.0 game plan) it was assumed that legacy cardholders would pretty much be an automatic approval. Well, things didn't go quite as planned with the transition over to Cardless, at least not at first. Bilt even admitted to this affecting around 10% of Bilt 1.0 cardholders, which should have never happened. It appears that they have worked the problem out for many. There was an email sent to many such cardholders, including our own team member Rick, that said they were now approved for the card if they choose to accept.

Email Details

Here is what the email said:

Hi YOUR NAME,

You've got an offer for the Bilt Palladium Card! It's valid until Jan 30, 2026. Taking the next step is easy. Simply go to the Bilt app and navigate to see your offer and accept it. Your offer will expire if no action is taken by Jan 30, 2026. This won't have impact on your credit score.

It looks like once you select the button to accept the offer you are instantly approved for the card. Just be sure you do it before the 30th! This also works even though you are within the 45 day Cardless window for reapplications.

What If You Don't Have The Email?

If you are someone who was affected, and you did not receive the email, then hopefully they are doing them in batches over the next several days. You could always email [email protected] to add your name to the list of people Bilt needs to look at.

Bilt Overturned Denials: ToP Thoughts

The Bilt credit card roll out has been pretty messy from jump street. The new lineup has been confusing for people, and they are still not really sure how to value Bilt Cash. Throw in the fact that many current cardholders were denied for a new card, and you have a real trifecta of mishaps there. I will give Bilt a lot of credit for being able to fix this for many affected people quickly though. They will now get their new cards early next month, just like everyone else. Let me know if you received the email over in the Facebook Group.
