Air France/KLM Flying Blue Award Calendar

Flying Blue, the combined airline loyalty program of Air France and KLM, offers some of the most competitive award rates out there, especially with their monthly promo awards. Finding cheap award flights isn't always easy. But the Air France/KLM Flying Blue award calendar has a handy feature that lets you see a month's worth of flights at a glance. This allows you to find that all-important award availability — flights you can actually book with your points and miles — and easily identify the lowest rates.

Flying Blue's award calendar got even better recently, allowing you to see not only award availability for Air France and KLM flights, but all partner airlines — including Delta. We'll teach you how to pull up the Flying Blue award calendar and use it to find the best award deals.

How To Pull Up The Flying Blue Award Calendar

You can use the Flying Blue award calendar to see a month-by-month view of award availability for Air France and KLM as well as the airlines' SkyTeam partners like Delta, China Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and more.

Start an award search on either Air France or KLM's website and enter your desired departure and destination airports and class of service. It will be easiest to search for one-way flights for one passenger at a time.

The trick to pulling up the Flying Blue award calendar is to leave the departure date blank.

Click “Search flights” and it should pull up the award calendar on the next page. You'll see award availability for the first month with bookable flights, with the lowest award fares highlighted in green.

You can see the lowest award rates for the following months at the top. Click on one to see all the award availability for that particular month. You can also use the arrows on either side of the screen to scroll through the months.

Book Delta Flights For Fewer Miles Through Flying Blue

Flying Blue's award calendar feature has been around for some time, but it recently expanded to include partner award flights. Where previously you had to search date by date on partner routes to see award availability. Now, you can see a month's worth of flights at a glance. That makes it easy to find Delta flights bookable through Flying Blue — often for far fewer miles than what Delta itself is charging. It's one of the best ways to book Delta flights with points and miles.

Use the same steps outlined above when searching Delta routes, like this flight from Detroit (DTW) to Honolulu (HNL). Leaving the departure date blank should pull up the award calendar.

You could book a nonstop, roundtrip Delta flight to Hawaii for 58,000 miles through Flying Blue. Note that with Flying Blue, you're always booking at least a main cabin ticket, not basic economy, making this an even better deal.

That exact same Detroit-Honolulu flight would cost you 103,800 Delta SkyMiles just for basic economy. Booking through Flying Blue, you'd be saving 45,800 miles!

This Flying Blue award calendar trick may not work on every single route or for every single airline. Your search also may not load or error out, but in that case, simply close your browser and start again. But in our experience, the new expanded award calendar feature is pretty reliable.

Air France/KLM Flying Blue Award Calendar: ToP Thoughts

The Air France/KLM Flying Blue award calendar makes finding award availability incredibly easy. Now that this feature also works for partner awards, it's an even more powerful tool. You can use this trick to find cheap business class awards, Delta flights at lower rates, and more.

Flying Blue has removed the ability to pull up this calendar view in the past, but we're hoping this trick sticks around for a while. Let us know in the ToP Facebook group if you use Flying Blue award calendar to book any upcoming flights!
