Hilton AutoCamp Collection

I love national parks and rustic, outdoorsy trips. That’s why trendy glamping brands like Hyatt’s Under Canvas collection, Hilton’s AutoCamp properties and the Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy tend to catch my eye. Earlier this year, I booked a short stay at AutoCamp Joshua Tree, a property featuring gleaming Airstreams surrounded by desert landscapes. This was totally different from any Hilton hotel I’ve stayed in before, and I couldn’t get enough. Here’s what to expect from the Hilton AutoCamp Collection.

What Are AutoCamp Properties?

The Hilton AutoCamp Collection is an assortment of outdoorsy properties, usually located near national parks like Yosemite or Joshua Tree or other nature-focused destinations such as the Catskills or Cape Cod. Accommodations typically include Airstream trailers, furnished tents or modern cabins. The accommodations are usually complemented by communal clubhouses and dining areas. Thanks to its Hilton partnership, Hilton Honors members can book their stays on points. Members can also enjoy the following status-based perks per stay:

  • Silver: Two eco-friendly waters.
  • Gold: A bundle of firewood, two eco-friendly waters and a space-available upgrade.
  • Diamond: A s’mores kit, a bundle of firewood per stay, two eco-friendly waters and a space-available upgrade.

Staying at AutoCamp Joshua Tree

We checked into AutoCamp Joshua Tree for one night this spring, during a quick weekend trip to Southern California. Part of the Hilton AutoCamp Collection, the property is located about 5 miles from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park and has 55 cabins and Airstreams.

I was surprised and impressed both by how modern and stylish our suite was and by how much fit inside. It was around 200 square feet, but it somehow fit a living room, a kitchenette, a separate bedroom and an indoor bathroom. The living room sofa also could be converted into a double bed, which meant there would have even been enough sleeping space for two children.

We also had a small “yard,” which included a fire pit and a wood-enclosed outdoor shower. We had access to Wi-Fi, an outdoor swimming pool and a large Clubhouse with activities, a general store and dining tables.

How to Book AutoCamp Properties

In my searches, I’ve found cash rates as low as $174 per night and award nights starting at 52,000 Hilton Honors points, depending on the property and dates. Here’s a sample calendar search for AutoCamp Catskills in April 2027. I’ve seen rates at the Joshua Tree location starting at 70,000 Hilton Honors points per night, though they can go much higher.

Cash rates were around $200 for my one-night stay this spring. Since the points rates weren’t providing the strongest cpp during my stay window, I actually decided to turn it into a points-earning opportunity instead. I booked through Rove and took advantage of a 23X Rove Miles-earning multiplier I’d found.

Hilton AutoCamp Collection: ToP Thoughts

It’s not always easy to find points-friendly accommodations near national parks, so I’ve appreciated the growing number of glamping-style properties bookable through hotel chains like Hyatt, Hilton and Marriott. We loved our AutoCamp Joshua Tree experience, and I would definitely book a Hilton AutoCamp Collection stay again. I have my eye on AutoCamp Catskills next. While this might not be the most luxurious use of around 50,000-60,000 points per night, it’s certainly a unique way to burn some Hilton Honors points. Need more Hilton points?
