Resy Changes August 2026
Several American Express cards offer a credit to be used at eligible Resy restaurants. Historically, any restaurant on the Resy app is eligible to redeem these credits. We previously reported that Resy changes were coming, where eligible restaurants for the credit would be noted as such. This led us to wonder whether some restaurants that appear on Resy would not be eligible. The Resy changes for August 2026 are now live and fortunately it appears we can breathe a collective sigh of relief.
What Changed?
As promised, the Resy changes for August 2026 are here. The app and website now indicate whether or not a restaurant is eligible for redeeming Resy credits. This information is available on the restaurant detail page says “Qualifies for Resy Credit” and looks like this:
Since this information is on the individual restaurant detail page, you'll need to click through to the restaurant you want to visit to confirm eligibility. Unfortunately, there is not a way to filter for only eligible restaurants. It is important to note that you must see this indicator on the restaurant's page at the time of purchase. Restaurants can join or drop out of the Resy program at any time, so if you make a reservation in advance it is important to check again before dining.
What Restaurants are Ineligible?
So far, despite these Resy changes, none of my local restaurants are showing as ineligible. An informal survey of the ToP team indicates the same across the board. The website NextCard claims that there are 214 restaurants overall that are ineligible for the credits, of the over 10,000 restaurants on the Resy platform.

While we were concerned the Resy changes would offer limited opportunities for redemption of these credits, I am very glad to see that was not the case.
