Earn 10x Ultimate Rewards with the New Chase Paze Benefit

There's a new bonus category on certain Chase cards that was quietly added recently and is getting a LOT of attention. While most of the bonus categories on Chase cards that earn Ultimate Rewards are somewhere in the neighborhood of 3-5X (without requiring you to book through a captive travel portal), 10X earning is relatively unheard of. And yet, that's exactly how much you can earn with this new Chase Paze benefit.

Let's take a look at what Paze is, how it works, and how you can use it to maximize your points earning potential.

What is Paze?

Paze is a new digital wallet or digital checkout platform that links your eligible credit card and allows you to pay without filling in your full card details. Paze advertises this as a more secure checkout option, since the merchant does not get access to your card number. Unlike some other digital wallets like PayPal or Apple Pay that allow you to add any card as a payment method, Paze requires your bank to participate in its network. Many of the major banks already participate with Paze, including Bank of America, Capital One, Wells Fargo, and the main subject of this article, Chase.

So far, Paze works with a limited list of merchants. Check the Paze site for new additions. The following is a selection of merchants from the broader list that may be of interest to our readers:

  • 1-800-Flowers.com
  • Broadway.com
  • City Experiences
  • Dunkin'
  • Fanatics
  • Roku
  • Sephora
  • ShopRite
  • teleflora
  • United Airlines
  • USA Today
  • Whataburger

New Chase Paze Benefit

While we've already covered that Chase participates with Paze, now there is extra incentive to use certain Chase cards with Paze at checkout. This new Chase Paze benefit now appears for certain cards indicating that you can earn 10X on up to $1,500 spent per month (for a total of 15,000 additional points monthly) when you pay with your eligible card at checkout with Paze through December 31, 2026.

The following cards qualify for this benefit:

The details of the benefit itself can be found in your online account by viewing “Card Benefits” under “Rewards and Benefits.” Here is a screenshot of what it looks like from my Sapphire Reserve card account:

Setting Up Your Paze Account

In order to take advantage of this new Chase Paze benefit, you will need to set up your Paze account. Fortunately, the process is relatively simple. In your Chase card account click on “Manage account” and then on “Digital Wallets.”

ToP Thoughts: New Chase Paze Benefit

I'm a big fan of digital wallets for making online shopping easier. While I wasn't necessarily in the market for another platform to manage, I am impressed by how easy it was to set up a Paze account with my Chase cards already linked. And while the list of merchants isn't particularly robust, there are plenty that are useful to me. The best part is that 10X earning potential which will definitely drive me to use one of these cards for my next purchase at a participating merchant.
