Hyatt American Airlines Status Match

The Hyatt and American Airlines partnership has been going on for several years now and it usually leads to some unique opportunities each year. Well, this year is no different with a new Hyatt & American Airlines status match offer. While this offer is focused on matching American status to Hyatt there will be some goodies for some Hyatt members going the other way too.

Hyatt American Airlines Status Match

What About People With World of Hyatt Status But Nothing With American Airlines?

That sounds great for American Airlines loyalists who didn't take advantage of the Bilt Hyatt status promo. What about the other way around? I have Hyatt Globalist status now, and I would love to parlay that into some American Airlines status. Here is what Hyatt has this to say to people like me about all of that:

In addition, select AAdvantage® members who have linked their World of Hyatt and AAdvantage® accounts may see an exclusive offer in the promotions tab within their AAdvantage® account on aa.com.

In the past I have received Gold status from American Airlines because of my Hyatt status, while others have received Platinum. I am assuming certain accounts will be targeted for this promotion, hopefully most.

Hyatt American Airlines Status Match: ToP Thoughts

I am most excited for people to be targeted for some American Airlines status. How many people get it, and what that looks like, remains to be seen. Let us know in the ToP Facebook Group if you see anything in your AA account.

As for matching American Airlines status over to Hyatt, this is less exciting. That is because World of Hyatt broke out the perks of status a few years back with their milestone rewards. That means you have to stay the nights to get a lot of the meaningful stuff, especially at the lower tiers, and Explorist status doesn't offer a ton in terms of perks. They did it that way because of status matches just like this.
