Capital One Lounge Rules

Ah, the dreaded airport lounge waitlist. While we at ToP don’t ever recommend getting a card solely for lounge access, a well-designed lounge can totally shift the vibe heading into a vacation. And being able to refuel inside of one during a challenging travel day can be a real lifesaver. That is—if you can get in. In recent years, popularity of these spaces has surged. The lines to get inside practically rival the queues to grab hot concert tickets at times. Capital One responded last summer, announcing new changes that will go into effect in February 2026. Here’s a rundown of lounge access for the bank’s cardholders—and the Capital One lounge rules that begin 2/1/26.

Which Capital One Cards Include Lounge Access?

Primary account owners of these cards enjoy complimentary access to Priority Pass lounges and Capital One Lounges and Landings (based on availability):

Capital One Venture Rewards and Capital One Spark Miles For Business credit cardholders can purchase passes for themselves and guests. Prices are $45 for those 18 and older, $25 for guests ages 17 and younger and free for children under age 2. (The non-cardholder rate would be $90 otherwise.)

New Rules Beginning Feb. 1, 2026

Prior to Feb. 1, 2026, Venture X Rewards additional cardholders and up to two guests could enter Priority Pass lounges and Capital One Lounges and Landings for free. No more. New annual fees or admission costs will now be required. One note: While Capital One Venture X Business primary cardholders could previously bring guests into lounges, additional cardholders did not enjoy any complimentary entry. The ability to purchase access annually is an entirely new offering for them.

Here's a breakdown of the new costs:

Authorized Users and Account Managers$125 per year
Guests (18 and over)$45 per visit
Guests (17 and under)$25 per visit
Guests (2 and under)Free
Accounts that spend at least $75,000/year*2 complimentary guests (Lounges) or 1 complimentary guest (Landings)
Priority Pass guests $35 per guest, per visit (Venture X cardholders)
2 complimentary guests (Venture X Business cardholders)

*Access is valid for the calendar year in which it is earned, plus the following year.

Where To Find Capital One Lounges

Capital One entered its lounge era in late 2021. Timed alongside the introduction of the Venture X Rewards Credit Card, it marked its entry at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Several new locations have landed since, with more on the way this year and beyond. The spaces are known for splashy interiors, trendy bites, craft cocktails, grab-and-go provisions and other wellness amenities. In late 2024, the bank also unveiled its Capital One Landing concept, promising elevated food and drinks and a restaurant-style experience. (At the first location, situated inside Reagan National Airport, the menu was created in partnership with José Andrés Group.) Capital One Lounge Rules: ToP Thoughts

We always lament the devaluation of a card perk, and this one particularly stings for families and group travelers who relied on the additional cardholder and guest access. Do you think this will have an impact on wait times at any of the affected lounges? And does this change how you feel about having these cards in your wallet? Weigh in over in the comments on the ToP Facebook group.
