Best Hyatts For Families Internationally

Traveling outside the USA with a family can be difficult. With long travel days, jet lag, and stepping out of your comfort zone, a hotel that perfectly fits your family's needs is a must. One of my favorite brands for this is Hyatt, because my Globalist status allows me to pre-book suites that better fit my growing family. Even if you don't have ToP-tier status in the program, there are many Hyatts worldwide that are a great fit for families. Here are some of the best Hyatts for families internationally.

Mexico

Hyatt is more represented in Mexico and the Caribbean now that the company is so focused on all-inclusives.

Hyatt Ziva Cancun (Cancun, Mexico)

The Hyatt Ziva Cancun is one of my family's favorite options for a relaxing and fun vacation outside the U.S. While Cancun is by no means an “authentic” destination, the Ziva is in the best location possible in the Hotel Zone. It features two beaches that can be a big help on windy days, as one side may be calmer than the other.

There's a kids' club with tons of activities throughout the day, and we've found the food and beverages to be excellent throughout this all-inclusive resort. A fan favorite, the Ziva is a Category F property on the World of Hyatt's all-inclusive redemption chart, meaning it will cost 42,000, 50,000, or 58,000 points per night for two adults (kids cost an extra 22,000, 25,000, or 29,000 per night). This is a sharp increase from recent years, so I wouldn't recommend this as a redemption property.

Dreams Los Cabos Suites, Mexico

A Category C property, the Dreams Los Cabos Suites is an amazing choice for families looking for a luxury all-inclusive escape on Mexico's Pacific Coast. It's located right in between Los Cabos and Cabo San Lucas, making exploring outside of the property super easy.

The resort features a fun kids' club with plenty of activities to keep the younger ones busy while parents sit poolside with a margarita. Note that, like most resorts in Cabo, the beaches are gorgeous but not suitable for swimming. The focus is on the massive pool complexes, which Dreams has plenty of.

Best Hyatts For Families Internationally: Central America

Andaz Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica

Another victim of Hyatt's consistent point redemption increases, I stayed at this property when it was a Category 4. Now a Category 8, it won't be an amazing use of Hyatt points for families, but there are lots of inclusions in the resort fee, including kayaking excursions and cocktail classes. Rooms cost between 35,000 and 45,000 Hyatt points per night.

The Cambi Kids Club is open from 8 AM to 5 PM each day, for ages 4-11. They offer unique activities like an adventure course with bouldering, cultural classes, and more.

South America

Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima, Peru

Another family favorite, the Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima, Peru, is perfectly located for exploring Peru's capital city. This is a foodie destination and very family-friendly, with the Miraflores area offering activities with amazing Pacific views. It's also a great jumping-off point for more adventurous family-friendly trips to Cusco and Machu Picchu.

Another fantastic aspect of this hotel is that it's a Category 2. That means larger families may be able to secure multiple rooms for 6,500 to 9,500 points per room.

Asia & Australia

The continent of Asia is a huge focus of Hyatt's, with some amazing properties. Australia has always had its high-end Park Hyatts (three!), but the brand has grown in Oz over the years.

Grand Hyatt Bali

Best Hyatts For Families Internationally

The Grand Hyatt Bali reminds me a lot of another favorite from our U.S. family Hyatt list, the Grand Hyatt Kauai. In fact, they opened just a year apart in the early 1990s! The Grand Hyatt Bali has the Oceana Kids' Club that's open from 8 AM to 6 PM each day, with two hours free each day per child.

The Grand Hyatt Bali is a Category 3 property, costing between 9,000 and 15,000 points per night.

Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay

I chose the Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay purely based on location. For those who are visiting Tokyo Disneyland with their family, the Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay is perfectly located for park visits. It's also a Category 3 property, meaning it's an amazing option for those looking to save points visiting the Greater Tokyo area as well. Nights cost between 9,000 and 15,000 points.

The property isn't as centrally located as other Hyatt options (like my favorite Park Hyatt), but for budget points travelers, it's a winner.

Park Hyatt Melbourne

A Category 5 Park Hyatt is a relative rarity in the World of Hyatt nowadays. The Park Hyatt Melbourne is on this list as a convenient option for visiting one of the best cities in Australia, but also because it caters to families. They offer packages that include complimentary kids' meals, discounts on second rooms to fit the whole family, and welcome amenities for the little ones. This hotel costs between 17,000 and 23,000 points per night.

If you're visiting the Australian Open tennis tournament like we were, it's a very convenient option for access. Plus, many players stay on the property to have access to their on-site tennis court.

Africa

Hyatt has a limited footprint in Africa, but I wanted to point out one of the best options on the continent.

Park Hyatt Marrakech

A new option in the program, the Park Hyatt Marrakech, is located outside the hustle and bustle of the city in a more resort environment. With more space, the resort has room for a kids' club and resort-style pools. As a Category 7 property, it's a fun use for a Category 1-7 certificate or you can book it for 25,000 to 35,000 points per night.

Europe

There are many Hyatt properties sprinkled throughout Europe. Here are some great options for families.

Hyatt Centric Malta

The Hyatt Centric Malta might feel like a random choice to put on a list, as Malta, lovely as it is, isn't always on the “must-see” list for families. The Category 2 property allows for families of four to stay in one room, which is a rarity in Europe.

Category 2 properties are a steal at 6,500 to 9,500 points a night, making for a very reasonable award trip for the whole family.

Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars

A Category 5 property, at 17,000-23,000 points per night, the Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars is one of the best located properties in London for family-friendly activities. Many of those activities are located along the Thames, like the London Eye and the British Parliament.

Grand Hyatt Istanbul

Istanbul is an overlooked destination in Europe (if you're on the right side of the Bosphorus). A foodie city, there are tons of fun activities for families. The Grand Hyatt Istanbul offers a resort-style pool in the city, popular with young kids. They also offer family suites for those who need a little more room.

As a Category 3, the Grand Hyatt Istanbul is an absolute steal on Hyatt points, costing only 9,000 to 15,000 points per night.

Best Hyatts For Families Internationally: ToP Thoughts

The World of Hyatt program is a fantastic choice for families traveling the world. I tried to balance this list between budget options, to leave open the possibility that two rooms will be required abroad to fit a family. Some luxury options might be fun for a milestone trip.

Overall, the World of Hyatt is an excellent option for family travel, no matter where you're headed. For more options, check out the discussion in the ToP Facebook Group.
