Best USA Hyatts for Families
I've made no secret of my love of Hyatt hotels and resorts. They have provided countless memories for my family, including getting married at the former Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen! As we now have a two-year-old running around the house, our vacation priorities have changed a little bit. We now prioritize more family-friendly hotels for our vacations in the Hyatt portfolio. Here is my list of the best USA Hyatts for families.
Table of Contents
ToggleSome redemptions may be astronomically high due to recent devaluations, but the resort itself is fantastic. Your list may differ– let us know in the Facebook group what your favorite resorts are for families!

Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress (Lake Buena Vista, Florida)
This property happens to be fantastic for families, and an excellent redemption. As a Category 1-4 property, the Grand Cypress is eligible for redemption with Category 1-4 certificates or 12,000 to 18,000 Hyatt points per night. On property, your resort fee (waived for Globalists and those redeeming points) has a lot of inclusions, including rock climbing, mini golf, a pitch-and-putt golf course, and bike rentals. Plus, the resort's pool is impressive and massive, with an oversized waterfall hiding the resort's gym and laundry facilities.
The location is next door to Walt Disney World, making for a speedy rideshare ride to the theme parks in the morning.
Grand Hyatt Kauai (Kauai, Hawaii)

One of our personal favorite properties on earth, the Grand Hyatt Kauai, is unfortunately a Category 8 in the World of Hyatt program, costing a minimum of 35,000 points a night. This property was a Category 6 only a few years ago. Nevertheless, the Grand Hyatt Kauai is still an amazing resort for families and can still offer outsized value.
Kauai is a laid-back island, and so is this resort. It's sprawling, with koi ponds, lava rock, and massive lagoon-style pools flowing through the property. For those with infants or small children, the saltwater lagoon (manmade) is perfect for a wave-free beach day. The resort still has a club level for those with access, like Globalists, which can help bring costs down in Hawaii.
Hyatt Regency Coconut Point (Bonita Springs, Florida)
A favorite for those fans of Florida's Gulf Coast, the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point has a key ingredient for an excellent family resort: a three-acre waterpark. While Coconut Point was heavily affected by recent hurricanes, the property is back open for business.
While not directly on a pretty beach, the property has access to Big Hickory Key by a 15-minute ferry, included in your resort fee. This is a Category 6 resort at the time of writing and costs between 21,000 and 29,000 Hyatt points per night.
Grand Hyatt Scottsdale (Scottsdale, Arizona)

Once a Hyatt Regency, the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale has undergone a $115 million renovation, making this a great combination of high-end accommodations with family-friendly features.
The property features a beautiful pool complex, with a multi-story waterslide and pool island with fountains. Younger kids love the sand beach and kids' club, including a full playground for those cooler desert days. Now a Category 6, this property costs between 21,000 and 29,000 points per night.
Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort (San Antonio, Texas)
Making this list, I was sad to find out that this resort is now a Category 6, as it was a Category 4 several years ago. This is a personal favorite, as the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort offers a ton of activities on site, while being located close to SeaWorld San Antonio. Like the two prior properties, this hotel costs 21,000 to 29,000 points per night.
On-site, the resort has a naturally designed waterpark. The sprawling lazy river has a hue that makes you question whether it's man-made, and the decades-old oak trees provide ample shade, adding charm to the property.
Park Hyatt Aviara Resort (Carlsbad, California)
Another high-end option for families, the Park Hyatt Aviara is an excellent use of a Category 1-7 certificate. One of the only resorts with a Miraval-branded spa, it's also excellent for parents with occupied kids in the youth club. In lieu of a certificate, you can book for 25,000 to 35,000 points per night.
The resort's pool offers a waterslide as well as a zero-entry pool, and activities like volleyball and croquet are available at the resort's tennis club. For younger families interested in Legoland California, the Park Hyatt is very close for easy park-going days.
Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort (Beaver Creek, Colorado)
While not a “family resort” per se, I love the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort because, for a family ski vacation, this resort is ski-in, ski-out. That makes logistics easy for tired kids (or parents) who want to take a mid-day break.
The resort offers s'mores for aprés-ski (and a Veuve Cliquot bar for the adults), as well as a heated pool for a winter pool day. The property is now a Category 8 in the World of Hyatt program, and is a popular redemption option. The property costs between 35,000 and 45,000 points per night.
Carmel Valley Ranch (Carmel Valley, California)
Our final family-friendly Hyatt resort in the USA is the Carmel Valley Ranch. This property is a hidden gem, with a kids' pool, splash pad, a kids' club for children up to 12, a game lawn, and even a farm for some education on vacation!
This property is also, unfortunately, a Category 8 property now, costing 35,000-45,000 points per night. Write your concierges and ask for more Category 7 properties in the World of Hyatt program!
