Amex Offer For Shop France, Italy or United Kingdom

American Express has got jokes! They want to send you on a scavenger hunt overseas to find someone, ANYONE, that will accept your American Express card. This must have been an evil plan hatched by some devious Amex basement dwellers. They probably have listening devices tapped into your phone as soon as you accept the Amex Offer for shop France, Italy or United Kingdom so they can hear you cursing their name trying to find a store that works. No matter, they know we will scoop these up like the discount loving suckers we are. Perfectly timed as we hit our summer holidays across Europe. We think, perfect, let's get some goodies for home and save a chunk of money in the process. In the end the joke is on us though! To throw a cherry on top, Amex offers you the discounts in US dollars so you need to use actual math skills to figure out if you will trigger it or not. Do we look like we are still in 7th grade?! Thanks for nothing Amex!

Okay, now that I got all of that tongue in cheekiness out of my system (which was fun) let's take a look at these offers. Amex actually knew that they have horrible coverage so they provided you a list of businesses that accept their cards in the aforementioned countries. To be fair, the offers ONLY work at these stores, so less of a help and more of a restriction. I figured I would still share it because I am sure people will still be able to take advantage of them, especially since some work online too. One thing is for sure, it is an interesting approach for Amex Offers. Similar to what we used to see with Small Business Saturday years ago. Oh, how I miss you Small Business Saturday!

Amex Offer For Shop France, Italy or United Kingdom: ToP Thoughts

All jokes aside, the downside to this offer is that it is limited to preferred / approved venders. I wish it was open ended so you could use it on hotel stays or dinner etc. Something like that would actually make it worth going on a scavenger hunt for. Limiting it to specific, i.e. probably pricey, stores no doubt lessens its value. Be sure to check the lists above to see if anything on there floats your boat. If you have a favorite store, but won't be in country, then it may be worth checking if they have it listed and if online purchases are included.
