Amex Airline Incidental Credit Selection
There is a quick PSA that I wanted to share with you about your Amex airline incidental credit selection (our complete guide on the card perk). It appears to only be a problem with the Amex Business Platinum card at this point. I would double check all of my cards just in case though. From what I can tell, it appears to be a glitch in the display more so than a problem on the back end. It still seems better to be safe than sorry though. Let's get into it.

I finally got around to dealing with our four Amex airline incidental credits this past weekend. When I was going through my cards I noticed that the Business Platinum cards didn't have my airline selected. These are older cards, which usually means the airline selection carries over from year to year.
The 35% Business Platinum rebate was still properly showing Delta Airlines as my selection. But the airline portion for the $200 airline incidental credit did not list an airline. The weird thing is it still had a green arrow like an airline was selection (it is gray if it is not selected). Doubly weird is that the 35% rebate and airline incidental selection are supposed to go in lockstep. I decided to click through the airline incidental selection to see it what showed, and it did offer me the airline dropdown – like it was the first time making my selection. Although that could be because it is still January as well, and I have a chance to change things if I want normally.
Why This Could Be A Nothingburger
The good news is it appears that this may just be a front facing / display issue. After noticing this issue I did some digging and noticed that others have been seeing the same thing. All of the reports I saw were on the Amex Business Platinum card too. The personal Platinum doesn't seem to show the same thing.
The good news is that most reports are still seeing the credits post normally. It appears the airline selected not showing properly is a glitch on what the portal shows in your account, and not an issue on Amex's backend.

Better To Be Safe Than Sorry
I would still suggest just reselecting your airline to be safe. It is best to do it a day or two before you need to use the Amex airline incidental credit too. This ensures that Amex's system is properly updated with your selection. It is probably overkill, but better safe than sorry always rings true.
Amex Airline Incidental Credit Selection: ToP Roundup
Even though this Amex airline incidental credit selection issue appears to be a display problem only, it is something you should be aware of. If you want to be extra cautious then I would go in again and make your airline selection on your Business Platinum card. Then wait a day or so before using it. If you do that then there should be nothing to worry about. Let me know if you're seeing the same thing in your American Express account over in the Facebook Group.
