How To Transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards to Partners: Step-by-Step Process

Before transferring points to any of Chase's partners, you need to create a loyalty account with that airline or hotel. These accounts are free, but it's important to create them as soon as you can.

Here are the steps for transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards to partners:

Step 1: Find your rewards

Log into your Ultimate Rewards account and select one of the cards that can transfer points to partners. As a reminder, these are the Chase Sapphire Preferred, the Chase Sapphire Reserve, or the Chase Ink Business Preferred.

Step 2: Select “Transfer points to partners”

On the home page, click on “Travel” on the menu bar near the op of the page. From the dropdown menu, select the second option: “Transfer points to partners.”

Step 3: Choose your partner

This page will list all of Chase's transfer partners. Partners with which you have already enrolled for transferring points will be identified as “Enrolled” next to their names. Typically, any ongoing transfer bonuses will be listed at the top as well (such as the Marriott Bonvoy transfer bonus in this example below).

Select the airline or hotel partner you want to transfer points to by clicking on the partner.

Step 4: Insert your loyalty account information and complete the transfer

If you have never transferred points before to the partner you're selecting, you will be required to insert your loyalty account name and number before transferring points. Make sure your name matches what you have on your Chase account to avoid any issues with transferring. For example, here is what you would see if you wanted to transfer Ultimate Rewards to Emirates for the first time:

If you have transferred points to the airline or hotel partner before, then your information will already be populated from before. In this example, let's transfer some Ultimate Rewards to World of Hyatt. Since I transfer points to Hyatt regularly, my information is already saved:

Next, type how many points you want to transfer. Most transfers can only be made to the nearest 1,000 points. Here, I am choosing to transfer 20,000 Ultimate Rewards to my World of Hyatt account.

In the next screen, you will have the opportunity to review your entire transfer to make sure everything looks right. If it all looks good, then you just need to click “Submit” at the bottom right!

Once you submit your transfer, you will see a confirmation page. Chase also sends an email almost instantly confirming your transfer.

Most transfers are instant. But if it's a brand new loyalty account, transfers can take longer (here is how to avoid this issue).  Remember to always make sure there is award availability for your desired redemption prior to transferring points.
