Hyatt Place Lake Buena Vista Review
The Hyatt Place Orlando Lake Buena Vista is a super convenient budget option for Disney trips. This no frills hotel has just what a family needs to spend the night in between long days at the Disney parks. Our Hyatt Place Lake Buena Vista review covers why this hotel should be on your radar for your next Disney trip if you're looking for a convenience without breaking the bank in terms of cash or points.

The Hyatt Place Lake Buena Vista is just off I-4 and very close to the Disney parks, with each park being at most 15 minutes away. The hotel is also near the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort (another great Hyatt option for Disney trips).
There also is no shortage of restaurants and shopping nearby (shoutout to Sofrito Latin Cafe across the street with cheap homemade Latin American dishes).
Hyatt Place Lake Buena Vista Review: Booking Cost
The Hyatt Place Orlando Lake Buena Vista is a Category 2 property in the World of Hyatt program. Here are the award costs for a standard room:
- 6,500 points off-peak
- 8,000 points standard
- 9,500 points peak
Cash prices are quite reasonable. I see rates regularly at around $150 per night or lower, and also into the high $200s. To decide whether I'm better off paying cash or redeeming points, I make sure to calculate the cents per point of any potential redemption.
Hyatt Place Lake Buena Vista: Rooms
The rooms fit the mold of Hyatt Place properties throughout the country, including all rooms having a sofa bed. This hotel does not have any suites, but it does have family rooms with bunk beds. With bunk beds, a sofa bed, and a regular bed, you can fit a lot of people in the rooms!
This property opened in 2016 and is starting to show some wear and tear. The most common signs of aging I have come across have been chips on some of the furniture and spots on the bathroom walls needing fresh paint. None of these is necessarily a dealbreaker, but it's good to have tampered expectations.
Property/Amenities
Amenities are not a big focus here. Perhaps the most helpful amenity for families is the laundry room offered on each floor with a couple of washers and dryers. The hotel does have a basic swimming pool and a lobby bar with lots of seating space. The gym is very small and limited, with a couple of tread mills and one set of free weights.
Free parking and complimentary breakfast are included for all guests, regardless of status. There is no shortage of tables available in the lobby area for families to fuel up before hitting the parks. The breakfast is the same across Hyatt Place properties. Offerings include scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, pancakes, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt and cereal options, and a rotation of different fruits. Nothing fancy but something for everyone.
The hotel's staff is extremely attentive and helpful. When checking in with our toddler, they regularly hand out a set of crayons and a couple of coloring pages. During one of our stays, I needed a quiet place to hop on a Zoom presentation and the staff offered me one of their conference board rooms at no charge.
Elite Status Recognition
There is little room for elite status recognition at the Hyatt Place Lake Buena Vista. Complimentary parking and breakfast are available to all guests, and the hotel does not have any suites. This is by no means a problem when using the hotel simply as a place to sleep in between visits to the Disney parks. Late checkout is consistently offered, and we do receive our complimentary two bottles of water daily.
Hyatt Place Lake Buena Vista Review: ToP Thoughts
If you're just looking for a place to sleep when visiting the Disney parks, the Hyatt Place Orlando Lake Buena Vista fits the bill. This no-frills property is clean and convenient, offers free parking and breakfast for all guests, and is very close to the Disney parks. But if you're looking for a property with lots to do when you need a break from the parks, take a look at our review of the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress.
