What if you could fly on a plane carrying only passengers who booked on points? British Airways has a new opportunity to do just that. The carrier just put two new Avios-only routes on sale. British Airways Club members can redeem their Avios for flights to Mallorca and Crete during summer 2027. The special flights will depart from London Heathrow on August 14, 2027, and return on August 21, 2027. Round-trip fares start at just 28,000 Avios plus fees in economy, depending on the flight. Of course, they’d still require positioning flights from the U.S. to get to London. Here’s what to know about British Airways Avios-only flights.
What Is an Avios-only Flight?
Originally introduced in 2023, British Airways’ Avios-only flights are reserved for passengers booking with Avios. On regular flights, only a limited number of seats are available for reward bookings. But on Avios-Only flights, the entire plane is open for points redemptions. Since launching, British Airways has run more than 50 Avios-only flights to destinations across Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and the Middle East.
What Itineraries Are Available?
This batch of British Airways Avios-only flights will serve two different Mediterranean destinations: Palma, Majorca, and Heraklion, Crete. Both itineraries depart London Heathrow (LHR) on Saturday, August 14, 2027, and return one week later on Saturday, August 21, 2027. Avios-only flights tend to sell out quickly. But I checked availability this afternoon and was still finding seats on both routes. Here’s which routes to search for:
Palma, Mallorca
Round-trip pricing from London Heathrow to Palma, Mallorca, starts at 28,000 Avios plus £5 in economy or 49,000 Avios plus £40 in business. Flight details are as follows:

What a cool opportunity to fly on a route reserved solely for award travelers. The British Airways Avios-only flights would still require a positioning flight from the U.S. to London in order to start your journey.
