Hilton Spend Amex Offer
There is a new Hilton spend Amex Offer that could net you up to 9,000 bonus Hilton Honors points in total. The really good stuff is if you pair this with a bonus earning category and your free night certificate spend. If you can pull that off then you are in for a nice triple dip. Let's take a look at the details and what it could mean if maximized.

ToggleOffer Details
- Get 3,000 additional Hilton Honors Bonus Points by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $1,500+ in one or more qualifying purchases.
- Once you add the offer to your eligible Card, you will have 90 days to spend $1,500+ or more, up to 3 times during the offer period.
Maximizing This Offer
Getting an extra 2x points on spend is not the most enticing offer, especially when those points are Hilton Honors points. It looks better in the right light though. Let's say you have at least $1500 in spend remaining to earn a free night certificate with your Amex Surpass card. If you did that spend in a 6x earning category (grocery, gas or restaurant) then that would be like earning 8x on that spend. If you value a free night certificate with at least an additional 4x earning (60,000 point minimum redemption / $15,000 in spend) that is like earning at least 12x on this spend. That is a return of 5.4% on your purchases when valuing Hilton Honors points at $0.0045 per point. Getting that kind of return on $1,500 / $3,000 / $4,500 in spend is nothing to sneeze at, especially when there is no welcome offer etc. attached.
Hilton Spend Amex Offer: ToP Thoughts
This offer won't make sense for everyone, since it is only an extra 2 points per dollar, but it will be a nice unexpected bump for some. If you can pair it up with the $15,000 in free night certificate spend you were going to complete anyway, then it is like you are getting free points. On the other hand, if I had already completed my free night spend I don't think that this would move the needle much for me, unless I had an immediate need for Hilton points.
Let me know what you think of this offer, and if you plan to stack it, over in the ToP Facebook Group.
