The Standard Pattaya Na Jomtien Quick Thoughts
South of the main area of coastal Jomtien lies this hidden Hyatt gem with unique '60s vibes. Located in a more remote area of Thailand, The Standard Pattaya Na Jomtien feels nondescript as you pull up to it. The exterior isn't glitzy or glamorous. It just looks like a very standard white building—no pun intended. Step inside, though, and the lobby and rooms ooze eclectic, retro-themed personality. The Standard Pattaya Na Jomtien really offers something different. Here are my quick thoughts on The Standard Pattaya Na Jomtien.

The Cost of Booking The Standard, Pattaya Na Jomtien: Is There Value in the Price?
At just a Category 3 on the World of Hyatt Award Chart, this hotel brings massive value. And I guess some are in on the secret, because this hotel seemed to be drawing crowds even in the low season. I tried to book it again before I left but with no luck. I was informed it was sold out for the following week.
Standard room cash rates can start around $175 and go up to about $275. I used a Category 1-4 free night certificate for my stay, which I'd originally planned for my Andaz stay before Hyatt made no-notice changes. I like to get better value for these on higher cash stays, but I also make it a priority to make sure they do not expire. As you will see with my room, I got my value out of the certificate. Here are the current award costs, which will shift when Hyatt implements its award chart changes on May 20.
Current award costs for a standard room:
- 9,000 points off-peak
- 12,000 points standard
- 15,000 points peak
Current award costs for a standard suite:
- 17,000 points off-peak
- 20,000 points standard
- 23,000 points peak

The Standard Pattaya Na Jomtien Quick Thoughts On The Room: What I Liked About It & What Could Be Improved
Stepping into my room, I immediately wished I had more nights booked. The hotel upgraded me thanks to my Globalist status. Not only to a suite but to a premium one: the Deluxe One Bedroom Suite with Private Pool. Talk about vibes—this room has them. Bright colors, funky artwork and yes, even lips on the wall. It's a quirky style, for sure, but one I could get used to.

I have made it no secret that I love bathrooms with double sinks, regardless of whether you are traveling solo or with someone. And this bathroom and tub area were large and spacious. The shower was also very tall and large, which I appreciated as a taller person. ToP tip: The hotel even has family rooms with bunk beds, making it a great option for larger groups.

What Are Some Of The Better Amenities The Standard Pattaya Na Jomtien Offers & Is It Missing Anything Important?
I thought the pool area was great, and the hotel has access to a nice beach area. Both are close together so if the pool is busy, the beach is just steps away. The perfect combo, in my opinion. The Standard also has a cool bar that lies in between the pool and beach, if you need a cold beverage. This hotel also has some more unique offerings, like a photo booth. For breakfast, there's a full buffet. When I walked in for breakfast, the first thing I noticed was the staff cutting open coconuts for the fresh coconut water station. If you have Globalist status, the buffet is well worth it. In fact, even without status or a breakfast plan included, it may be worth trying. If you haven't experienced the vast array of options at an Asian hotel breakfast buffet yet, you are missing out. A quick ride will have you at any number of great dining options in Jomtien, of course.

What Was Your Favorite Thing About About The Standard, Pattaya Na Jomtien?
So many hotels we see today feel basic and templated. I just keep thinking about the vibes here: all the colors, artwork and unique furniture really give this property some life. Guests get all of this and an excellent pool and beach area.

Another important note is that both Hyatt hotel options in the area use Pattaya and Jomtien in their name. You are really 20-25 minutes from Central Pattaya, although the areas blend together. Pattaya is known for its nightlife and beaches, while Jomtien is a bit more mellow but still has great beaches and some nightlife. Guests are just a quick drive to the outer area of Jomtien and a 10-minute ride from the main area of Jomtien. About 10 minutes farther south, you will find the Hyatt property that first drew me to this area a few years ago. I had this hotel on my radar and the opportunity to get to check off a Brand Explorer option made it a must-stay for me. All told, I could see this as a great place to stay for multiple days if in the area.

Would I Stay At The Standard, Pattaya Na Jomtien Again?
Even without the upgraded room, I'd love to come back. The only minor critique I could think of on this short stay was the check-in process. It was a bit busy and slow. There was just one check-in area for everyone, regardless of hotel status, and the clerk was not friendly like I am used to in this area. You do get a welcome drink after check in, but that felt awkward as the staff wanted to wait for you to drink it before going to your room. Most hotels here would give it to you while you're waiting to check in. But with that being said, I loved the vibe and wanted to spend more time here. So much so that I've already locked in a couple days on my next planned trip.
