Look Inside Amex Centurion Lounge Seattle

Mark alerted everyone earlier today that the newest lounge in Amex's Centurion Lounge network was finally open. I guess I should say reopened. It is a new lounge but it replaces the old, very small, location Amex previously had in Seattle. That closed a few weeks back in preparation for this new, much larger, lounge to open. I happened to be getting on a flight today so decided to take a look inside Amex Centurion Lounge Seattle and I have to say, they knocked it out of the park. Let's get into it!

New Centurion Lounge Seattle Review

So for those that were familiar with the old centurion lounge, which was basically more of a closet, they will be very impressed with this new centurion lounge in so many ways.  The lounge is located on the mezzanine level in the Central Terminal. It is accessible by taking the elevator or staircase located in the food court in the Central Terminal. The hours are daily from 5:00am – 10:00pm.

Centurion Lounge SEA Seating & Main Area

First of all, it’s very open air at the front of the lounge with the large windows, looking out to the taxiway and very bright.

The seating arrangements have a variety of styles of seating, you have bar seating, couches and sofas you have high top, seating, low top seating booth areas it really provides a variety for those that are particular about what kind of seating they prefer.

I love how there is seating wrapped around the entire footprint and many have amazing views of the taxiway. Having glass above you gives it an openness you rarely find in lounges. I also love that it is open air overlooking the main terminal as well. The design aesthetic is off the charts here.

Seattle Centurion Lounge Bar & Food

The bar area area is very large. There’s a health and wellness bar with smoothies, coffee, lattes, etc.. They’ve  also done a great job of dividing up the food and beverage areas so nothing gets too crowded when people are making selections.

I did notice a little bit more variety of food compared to what they used to offer in their Seattle location. And, in my opinion, a better variety as well.

Look Inside Amex Centurion Lounge Seattle: Nice Local Touches

I was really impressed with all the local touches of artwork with Seattle sports stars, the Seattle bands, and music scene throughout the space. They fit perfectly and added some flare to the design overall.

The One Negative, The Bathroom

If I were going to critique one area of the lounge it would likely be the bathroom area. They only had two stalls and two urinals in the men's bathroom. For a lounge this size I just don't think that will be adequate at all.

Look Inside Amex Centurion Lounge Seattle: ToP Thoughts

Overall the Seattle American Express Centurion Lounge is a gigantic improvement over the old lounge at this location. I would even go on to say that I think it will be many people's favorite Centurion Lounge domestically. The sight lines, views, openness and design of the place will have AV geeks flocking to the place from near and far. I think the food and beverage options are superior to other Centurion Lounge locations as well. I just hope you are able to hold it after downing all of those smoothies and coffee because I feel like the bathroom is going to have a line out the door at times.
