Book February 16 – 28, 2023 for flights departing February 16 – May 31, 2023. The Citi transfer bonus hits on the 19th, so you have plenty of time to book at a discount. Flights can be as low as 14,000 points one way with this discount. At least you shouldn't run into issues with online bookings with this one since it is Virgin's own metal.

The downside of their program is the huge fuel surcharges. That is why most people use Virgin Atlantic miles on partner airlines, like Delta. If you book economy flights they are usually easier to swallow though. It essentially ends up giving you a discount on the cash price of the ticket.
