International Options For Your Marriott 35,000 Point Certificates

Marriott's 35,000 point certificates can be incredibly helpful when traveling abroad. For one, there are often one-night stays required during travel, like a layover. Or, there may be a reason to visit a city during a longer trip for just one evening. Regardless of your reasons, Marriott's 35,000 point free night certificates can be quite valuable when traveling internationally. Here are some of our favorite properties to use them at outside the U.S. Be sure to check out our favorite domestic options as well.

#1: Ritz-Carlton, Sharq Village (Doha, Qatar)

A fun memory for my wife and me, the Ritz-Carlton Sharq Village is more of a resort than a city hotel. Located in between Doha International Airport (DOH) and Doha's downtown, Sharq Village feels very locally inspired. Rooms feel like you're staying in a Qatari mansion. While I wouldn't consider Qatar a beach destination necessarily, there's even access to the Persian Gulf direct from the property.

Room rates are very reasonable on points, with nights often below 35,000 points.

#2: Palacio Del Inka, Peru

The Palacio Del Inka is the perfect hotel for those visiting Machu Picchu. During our visit to this hotel, booked using a 35,000 point certificate, we utilized the hotel's private train depot to visit the ruins for the day. The property is essentially a resort, with no nearby town to visit, so just keep that in mind for extended stays.

Checking the calendar, there are many dates under 50,000 points, making it possible to use your 35,000 point certificate with a buy up for this stay.

#3. W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island

This one is for the F1 fans. The W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island is located inside Abu Dhabi's F1 track. If you saw the F1 movie, this hotel was featured prominently in that. Yas Island is home to some of the best theme parks on the planet, including Ferrari World and the brand-new Sea World Abu Dhabi.

Looking at the calendar, there are lots of dates under 50,000 points a night. Dates in the hot summer months are well below the 35,000 point threshold for redemption.

International Options For Your Marriott 35,000 Point Certificates

#4. JW Marriott, Berlin

The JW Marriott, Berlin is a great option for those with Marriott's 35,000 point certificates, because most months during the year members can find availability under 35,000 points. That means no extra Marriott Bonvoy points needed to use the certificate for a free night.

While maybe not the most exciting property to redeem for, Berlin remains a popular destination for visitors to Europe in the summer, so there might be some interest in checking this property out. Most JW Marriotts have an Executive Lounge, which is free to enter with Platinum status or higher.

#5. St. Regis Bangkok

The St. Regis Bangkok is a stunning property, which would be well out of reach from a 35,000 point certificate in another city. Bangkok is a very inexpensive hotel market, with some amazing 5-star hotels. If your travels take you to Bangkok, you should be able to find availability at the property with some patience.
