Marriott 35,000 Point Certificate Domestic Redemptions
Marriott has a lot of different types of free night certificates, and one of the most common ones earned is redeemable for hotels up to 35,000 points (60,000 if you ToP them off with 25,000 extra Marriott Bonvoy points^). These certificates are earned from two different credit cards, so that you may have one or both in your wallet. While earning them may be the easy part, finding a great redemption option for them can sometimes be challenging. Here are our favorite domestic hotels for redeeming Marriott 35,000-point certificates.
Table of Contents
Toggle#1: Walt Disney World Swan
A Walt Disney World vacation is one of the priciest domestic vacations you can take as a family, even more so if you stay on property. Thankfully, three Marriott resorts in the Marriott program can be redeemed with Marriott's 35,000-point certificates. The Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve are considered Walt Disney World Deluxe resorts, so you'll also receive extra time in the parks on select evenings during your stay as well.
Looking at the award calendar, the cheapest date at the time of writing is 36,000 points for the Swan. That means you'll still need to ToP off your certificate with an extra 1,000 Bonvoy points to make your booking.

The Dolphin and Swan Reserve are typically higher-priced but still under the 50,000-point threshold for these certificates.
#2: Westin La Paloma, Tucson, Arizona
We spend a lot of time in Tucson as a family, and for those who have never been, it's a great value destination in the winter months. The Westin La Paloma is a sprawling resort in the Catalina Foothills, with on-site semi-private golf and a massive pool complex. There's also great hiking nearby, with a free shuttle. Points rates can be found for just below 35,000 for select dates in the winter, or around 30,000 in the summer, so it's a great hidden gem. Beware of the pesky $45 resort fee.

#3: Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner
Believe it or not, it's possible to find sub-50,000 point nights for Ritz-Carltons domestically! One pretty consistent option is the Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner, right outside of Washington, D.C. While not the most glamorous Ritz out there, it's still a brag-worthy stay if visiting the nation's capital with your credit card benefit.

#4: W Scottsdale
The W Scottsdale is located right in the middle of Old Town, which is the city's famous nightlife district. If you're thinking of coming to Arizona for a special occasion, it's possible to stay at the W using your 35,000-point free night certificate (barely). In the hot months of summer, you can redeem your certificate, plus 14,000 extra Marriott Bonvoy points, for a free night here.

#5: JW Marriott, New Orleans
The JW Marriott, New Orleans, is located two blocks from Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. New Orleans is a popular tourist destination, with many significant events throughout the year, in addition to Mardi Gras. The JW Marriott is an upscale option in the Quarter, with a club lounge for Marriott Platinum members. Rooms can be booked for 41,000 points a night, or just 6,000 Marriott points on top of a certificate.
Marriott 35,000 Point Certificate Domestic Redemptions: ToP Thoughts
There are dozens more options available across the United States that are viable for your 35,000-point certificate. I tend to book hotels I wouldn't usually pay for in cash. For me, that's a Ritz-Carlton or JW Marriott. At the end of the day, the best option is the one that makes you happiest. If it's saving money you'd spend otherwise, but it happens to be a Fairfield Inn, that's fine too. Remember that these certificates do have a cost. It's the annual fee of the card you earned them with. So, at least strive to redeem for cash rates higher than that.
