Hyatt Bonus Journeys Promo Fall 2023

The details on the Hyatt Bonus Journeys promo Fall 2023 came out yesterday. It isn't as juicy as I would have hoped, but Hyatt has set a high bar for expectation this year. Maybe expectation has more to do with my lack of enthusiasm than anything. Let's take a look at this Bonus Journeys promo, shall we?

Bonus Journeys Fall 2023 Promotion Details

World of Hyatt members can register to earn 3,000 Bonus Points for every three eligible nights completed after registration between October 6, 2023 and November 30, 2023 at more than 1,250 Hyatt hotels and resorts around the world, up to 21,000 Bonus Points under this offer.  

World of Hyatt Credit Cardmembers can also earn an additional 1,000 Bonus Points for every three eligible nights during this time at hundreds of participating hotels in sought-after global destinations – including Australia, France, Japan, New Zealand and the United Kingdom – up to an additional 7,000 Bonus Points under this offer for cardmembers.  

Both of these offers stack with  the 500 Reasons to Stay Somewhere New Offer as well, adding a potential extra 500 points per night.

What are the registration dates for the promotion?  

• Members may register for the promotion between September 12, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. CT and November 10, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. CT.

What is an Eligible Stay?

• For the purpose of this offer, an Eligible Stay is defined as a stay at a participating hotel where a member is paying an Eligible Rate or redeems a Free Night award. Back-to-back nights at the same hotel will be considered one Eligible Stay. A hotel must be participating in World of Hyatt at the time of your stay for it to qualify as an Eligible Stay.  See complete terms and conditions on hyatt.com for a list of participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties. Only Eligible Stays after registration will qualify. Only stays with checkout dates after registration and between October 6, 2023, and May 31, 2024 (Guessing this date is an error on their part and should say November 30th).

What is an Eligible Night? 

• For the purpose of this promotion, an “Eligible Night” is defined as any night where a member is paying an Eligible Rate or redeems a free night award for at least one night of their stay.

I have registered for the promotion and have a stay on October 5 with a checkout on October 6. Will the night count towards the promotion? 

• No, Eligible Nights completed between October 6, 2023, and November 30, 2023, will count toward the promotion. 

I have registered for the promotion and have a stay on November 30 with a checkout on December 1, 2023. Will the night count towards the promotion? 

• Yes, only Eligible Nights completed between October 6, 2023, and November 30, 2023, will count toward the promotion.

If I pay for more than one room during the same stay, will the qualifying activity from each room count toward the promotion?  

• No, a member will only receive credit for the qualifying activity for the room the member occupies during the Promotion Period.

Hyatt Bonus Journeys Promo Fall 2023: ToP Thoughts

While this isn't super sexy it could add up to a little chunk of points if you have stays already planned during the time frame. I hate the 3 night requirement, since many people may only have 1 or 2 nights during this promotion. It also stinks if you have 4 or 5 nights booked and miss out on that second chunk of points.

I do like that award nights and free night certs should work per the FAQ section above. It is always good when you get points back on award stays. It feels like a nice little double dip almost.

I don't think this Hyatt Bonus Journeys promo Fall 2023 is worth upending your travel plans around but it will be nice to get some unexpected points if it works out naturally. It looks like I am sitting on 8 nights during the promotion so I may need to squeak one more in there to hit 9,000 points. I could swap a free night cert IHG one night stay over the Hyatt … decisions, decisions.
