Grocery Amex Offer
There is a new grocery Amex Offer that I think many will be happy to see on their accounts. There are two versions of it, one for Membership Rewards and one for cash back. It will depend what card you get it on which offer you will see. This is a targeted offer so not everyone will get it. We went one for two in our household and I know both Derrick and Sarah had it on their cards.

Here are the different offers we have seen:
Membership Rewards Offer 1
- Get 4 additional Membership Rewards® points for each dollar spent on qualifying purchases made using your enrolled eligible Card in-store or online at a U.S. supermarket by 10/6/2023.
- Limit of 2,500 Membership Rewards points.
Membership Rewards Offer 2
- Get 2 additional Membership Rewards® points for each dollar spent on qualifying purchases made using your enrolled eligible Card in-store or online at a U.S. supermarket by 10/6/2023.
- Limit of 2,000 Membership Rewards points.
Cash Back Offer 1
- Get a $10 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $150 in one or more purchases in-store or online at a U.S. supermarket by 10/6/2023.
- Limit of 3 statement credits (total of $30).
Cash Back Offer 2
- Get a $10 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $250 in one or more purchases in-store or online at a U.S. supermarket by 10/6/2023.
- Limit of 3 statement credits (total of $30).
Offer Terms
Here are some notable terms from the offers:
- Enrollment limited.
- Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem.
- Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible.
- Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels.
- Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card.
- Offer valid for in-store and online eligible purchases at U.S. Supermarkets.
- An “eligible purchase” means a purchase made with your enrolled Card at a U.S. supermarket location by 10/6/2023.
- “Supermarket” means a standalone merchant in the U.S. primarily selling supermarket products. Excludes gasoline purchases and gift card purchases.
- Specialty Food Stores, Superstores, and Warehouse Clubs are not considered Supermarket stores.
- Excludes pharmacy and indoor vendor purchases such as coffee shops and restaurants.
- Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 10/6/2023, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase.
- Limit 1 enrolled Card per American Express Card online account.
Grocery Amex Offer: ToP Thoughts
I am a little surprised to say it but I think the $10 cash back offer on the $150 in spend is the best grocery Amex Offer of the bunch. It offers a return of 6.67% on that spend plus whatever points you earn. But I value Membership Rewards at around 1.5 cents per point. If you value them in the 2 cent per point range that would change things some.
