Capital One Portal Bonus
We oftentimes caution against using travel portals. We actually list nine ToP reasons not to use travel portals. However, we also state that sometimes you are required to use a portal, like with a Chase Sapphire Preferred‘s annual hotel credit, the Venture X and Venture X Business annual travel credit, etc. In these instances, you do your due diligence, book the trip, follow-up to make sure all is well and then hope all goes okay. If you find yourself in this situation, there is a new Capital One portal bonus that might make sense for you.

My Targeted Business Offer
For starters, it appears the Capital One portal bonus is targeted and for business cards only. Further, it appears there are several different offers floating around. I received the following bonus:
- Spend $3,000 on business travel in the Capital One portal and get a $300 travel credit for future travels.
- Spend another $3,000 in the portal and get another $300 travel credit, for a total of $600.
With the caveats and risks of portal bookings above, a 10% bonus on travel spend, up to $6,000, is a great deal.

Heather's Targeted Business Offer
A ToP teammate, Heather, received a similar targeted offer, but with lesser amounts:
- Spend $2,000 on business travel in the Capital One portal and get a $200 travel credit for future travels.
- Spend another $2,000 in the portal and get another $200 travel credit, for a total of $400.
While the amounts are different, the 10% bonus on spend still applies.
Terms & Conditions of Offer
The terms & conditions of this Capital One portal offer are fairly straightforward and include:
- Offer valid for travel booked by June 5, 2026
- Eligible purchases include: hotels, flights, hotels + flights, rental cars, activities and vacation rentals purchased on Capital One Business Travel.
- Travel Credit redemptions are excluded towards fulfillment of the spend thresholds.
- The spend thresholds can be met across multiple bookings during the offer period.
- Once the credit is earned, the offer will not be available for other reservations. This applies even if the qualifying reservation is canceled.
- The Credit earned will be deposited into the customer’s account up to 72 hours after the qualifying spend is achieved. It will then be eligible for use toward future purchases made through Capital One Business Travel.
- The Credit can be applied to a single purchase or spread across multiple transactions. If the future booking using the Credit is canceled, the Credit will be restored and eligible for use on another future booking. Rewards will not be earned on any travel credits used on future bookings.
Capital One Portal Bonus: ToP Thoughts
If you are targeted for this bonus and it works for you, great! If not, I wouldn't sweat it too much. A 10% bonus on spend is great, in addition to the credit card rewards you'll receive, but there are always risks and drawbacks to portal bookings. Personally, I am not planning to pursue this bonus, unless lots of business rental cars fall in my lap.
