I have some news that will be amazing for some and a nothing burger for others. Some of that will depend on your Bilt status level, and the rest will depend on how fancy you want to travel. I imagine it will give some another reason to chase Bilt status. That is assuming you weren't already going after the increased transfer bonus levels status offers. Today, there is a new Bilt BLADE partnership that allows you to earn Bilt Rewards on bookings, save on bookings and even get a free chopper ride!

What Is BLADE?

Some may be wondering what the heck BLADE actually is. BLADE is a transport company that offers helicopter and seaplane flights in certain markets. Like flying from JFK into Manhattan and vice versa. They also offer private charters and things like that as well.

I personally have been wanting to try out the service when hitting up New York. The value isn't really there, starting at around $200 one way, but it would be cool to do just once. If you are a Bilt Rewards Platinum member you might to get to do just that, for free!

What does this Bilt Rewards and BLADE partnership actually offer though?

Bilt Rewards Elite Status Members will receive all-new elite benefits including discounted flights, BLADE lounge access and a free annual BLADE flight for Bilt’s Platinum Elites.

Here’s how it will work:

Starting April 19th, all Bilt Rewards members who pay for any BLADE booking with a debit or credit card linked to their Bilt account will receive 2X bonus Bilt Points for every dollar. These bonus points are on top of any rewards your payment card offers.

All three levels of Bilt Rewards Elite Members will receive additional benefits:

• Bilt Silver
  • Save 10% off BLADE airport flights booked in the Bilt app or website.
• Bilt Gold
  • Save 10% off BLADE airport flights plus access to BLADE lounges even when not flying.
• Bilt Platinum
  • Above benefits plus one free BLADE flight between Newark, JFK, and Manhattan or Monaco and Nice.

A fully integrated booking platform will be available in the Bilt Rewards app for members to book BLADE airport flights. All Bilt Rewards members will see applicable discounts and benefits in the checkout flow when booking BLADE airport flights via the Bilt app or website.

FAQs

Do I have to book in the Bilt app or website to receive bonus points? 

No, any BLADE service booked and paid for with any debit or credit card linked to a member’s Bilt Rewards account will qualify for 2X bonus points per dollar spent.

Do I have to book in the Bilt app or website to realize elite benefits? 

Yes, to receive a 10% discount or for a Platinum member to redeem their free flight, you must book a BLADE airport flight via the Bilt app or website. The discount will automatically display and any free Platinum member flight credits will be available for redemption.

What is the BLADE flight cancellation and change policy? 

All BLADE flights booked via the Bilt app or website or booked with Bilt benefits will operate under BLADE’s standard cancellation and change policies.

How does the Platinum Elite flight credit work? 

Bilt Platinum members will receive one (1) BLADE basic ticket for one seat on any regularly scheduled BLADE Airport or BLADE Line flight. Platinum members will receive one airport flight credit per occurrence of qualifying for Bilt Platinum status.

What does BLADE Lounge access include for Gold and Platinum members?

Upon providing proof of Bilt Gold and Platinum status by showing the desk attendant their Bilt app and confirming government-issued ID, an eligible elite member can use the BLADE lounges during posted, normal operating hours. Gold and Platinum elite members are limited to two (2) beverages if not flying BLADE. Operating hours are subject to change without notice and BLADE reserves the right to determine when lounges are at operating capacity.

Bilt BLADE Partnership: ToP Thoughts

If I had Bilt Rewards Platinum status would I be putting Nice and Monaco on my upcoming travel list? I wouldn't say no to that. While this is a niche perk, I think it gives top tier elites an aspirational type redemption. If you already use BLADE as it is, then it could offer you some discounts and bonus points on the bookings. For the rest of the people, I doubt 10% off and bonus points will move the needle much for you for using the service.
