When we call an offer a no lifetime language offer, or NLL, that means that the standard lifetime language terms are not present in the offer. Normally you are only eligible for an American Express welcome offer if you have not had the card before. That is where the “lifetime” part comes from. In reality though, a lifetime is more like 5 – 7 years in American Express' eyes.
These NLL offers are like a skeleton key that opens all doors. If the application doesn't have lifetime language in the terms then you are eligible for the welcome offer even if you have had the card before. Heck, even more than that, you are eligible even if you have the card right now! These also get around pop-up jail if you should find yourself behind bars there. If you have never had the card before then a no lifetime language offer is not important, since you are eligible for the standard offer. This only matters if you have had the card before.

- Earn 200,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $10,000 or more on eligible purchases on your Card within your first 3 months of Card Membership starting from the date your account is approved.
- The $375 annual fee is NOT waived
The interesting thing with this offer is that the spending requirement is the old level of $10,000 within 3 months. That is more approachable for many versus the $15,000 requirement in 3 months we see on the 200K offers now.
American Express Business Gold Earning Rate
Here are the details on the card's new earning structure:
- Earn 4X Membership Rewards(R) points on the 2 categories where your business spends the most each billing cycle from 6 eligible categories.
- While your top 2 categories may change, you will earn 4X points on the first $150,000 in combined purchases from these categories each calendar year (then 1X thereafter).
- Only the top 2 categories each billing cycle will count towards the $150,000 cap.
- US purchases on the following 6 categories are options:
- Electronic goods retailers and software & cloud system providers
- Monthly wireless telephone service charges made directly from a wireless telephone service provider in the U.S.
- Transit purchases including trains, taxicabs, rideshare services, ferries, tolls, parking, buses, and subways.
- Online, TV, and radio advertising
- Gas stations
- Restaurants (including takeout and delivery)
- US purchases on the following 6 categories are options:
- Earn 3X Membership Rewards® points on flights and prepaid hotels booked on AmexTravel.com.

- Purchase protection on covered purchases for up to 90 days from the purchase date if an item is stolen or accidentally damaged. This coverage is limited to $1,000 per incident, up to $50,000 per calendar year.
