New Combined Loyalty Program Atmos Rewards
When Alaska Airlines acquired Hawaiian Airlines last year, they announced that while the airlines would keep their respective names, they would eventually share a combined loyalty program. We finally know what that new loyalty program (and its miles) will be called: Atmos Rewards. Alaska unveiled more details Wednesday on its new mileage program and when these changes to miles, status, and more will go into effect. The airline also launched a brand new premium credit card, and announced plans to introduce free Starlink Wi-Fi on its flights for loyalty members.

ToggleWhen Atmos Rewards Launch?
Alaska is wasting no time transitioning to the new loyalty program. As of Wednesday, Alaska's Mileage Plan is no more: Alaska has already transitioned its former Mileage Plan program to this new loyalty program. If you are an Alaska Mileage Plan member, you'll see that your account is now called Atmos Rewards and any Mileage Plan miles that were in your account are now Atmos Rewards points. HawaiianMiles won't officially transition into the new program until October 1, 2025.
Three Ways To Earn Points
One of the biggest differences between Atmos Rewards and Alaska's former loyalty program is that there will be three ways to earn points. Members will get to choose how they want to earn points, and they'll be able to change their selection once per year.
- Distance flown: Earn 1 point for every mile flown
- Dollars spent: Earn 5 points for every $1 spent on flights (excluding taxes and fees) and any paid upgrades to premium cabins.
- Segments flown: Earn 500 points for each segment flown

For now, members will continue to earn points based on distance flown, as they did previously. Alaska says these additional points earning options won't be available until “later in 2026.”
Atmos Rewards Elite Status Tiers
Alaska Airlines elite status is being rebranded under Atmos Rewards. These are the new elite status tiers, and how they correspond to oneworld elite status and the former levels of Alaska MVP status.
- Atmos Silver (oneworld Ruby):
- Replaces MVP status
- Atmos Gold (oneworld Sapphire):
- Replaces MVP Gold status
- Atmos Platinum (oneworld Emerald):
- Replaces MVP Gold 75K status
- Atmos Titanium (oneworld Emerald):
- Replaces MVP Gold 100K status

Elite-qualifying miles — the metric you previously needed to acquire to earn Alaska status — will now be known as “status points.” Any EQMs you previously earned with Alaska are automatically converted to status points at a 1:1 ratio.
There is no change to how you'll earn status in 2025, for 2026. But come 2026, Alaska is upping the number of status points you'll need to earn the two highest levels of Atmos status — Platinum and Titanium — for 2027.
- Atmos Silver will require 20,000 status points
- Atmos Gold will require 40,000 status points
- Atmos Platinum will require 80,000 status points (up from 75,000 status points)
- Atmos Titanium will require 135,000 status points (up from 100,000 status points)
Members who earn either Platinum or Titanium status this year will get a head start on earning status next year. Platinum members will get 5,000 status points towards earning status for 2027, while Titanium members will get 20,000.
New Milestone Rewards
Alaska is also introducing milestone rewards, where members can earn additional perks on the way to earning each level of status. For every 10,000 status points you earn, you'll get to choose a benefit, from bonus points to lounge passes, discounts, and more. Milestone rewards start at 10,000 status points. Benefit options get better the higher you climb.

Free Upgrades for Top-Tier Elites
While the threshold to reach top-tier Atmos Titanium status is increasing, it will come with a new perk. Travelers with Titanium status will get free, day-of business class upgrades on long-haul international flights. And not only for themselves, but for a companion, too.
Since its merger with Hawaiian, Alaska has been on a tear adding new international destinations to its route map. The airline has already launched flights to Tokyo-Narita (NRT) from its Seattle (SEA) hub. Flights to Seoul, South Korea (ICN) beginning next month. The airline has also announced new routes to London-Heathrow (LHR), Rome (FCO) and ReykjavÃk, Iceland (KEF) for 2026. Hawaiian also flies to several international destinations from its Honolulu (HNL) hub, including Tokyo (HND and NRT), Sydney (SYD), and Tahiti (PPT) in French Polynesia.
Beginning next spring, travelers with Titanium elite status and a companion will also get free upgrades on Hawaiian Airlines flights within North America.
Atmos Rewards Members Get Free InFlight Wi-Fi
The launch of its new combined loyalty program isn't the only big news Alaska shared this week. The airline also announced Atmos Rewards members will get access to free inflight Wi-Fi when they fly either airline. Hawaiian's planes are already equipped with Starlink Wi-Fi. Beginning next year, Alaska will start outfitting its own planes with Starlink Wi-Fi, with plans to have the entire combined fleet connected by 2027.
