Southwest Award Sale
It’s a great time to book (or rebook) Southwest flights. A new Southwest award sale running through November 9, 2026 is offering up to 25% off one-way or round-trip base fares. The sale is valid for travel now through March 10, 2027, including select dates around the holidays, although blackout dates and other restrictions apply. Running some searches on the low fare calendar, I found some cheap flights to Hawaii from as low as 8,500 points, Mexico and the Caribbean from 6,000 points and lots of cities around the U.S. from 3,000 points. And if you have the Companion Pass, those cheap routes become dirt cheap. Let’s take a look at the sale details.
Southwest Award Sale Details
Here are the details of the new Southwest award sale:
- Pricing and availability: Save up to 25% off on eligible one-way or round-trip fares.
- Fares vary by destination, flight, day of week, demand and other factors.
- Interisland Hawaii travel not included.
- Seats, days and markets are limited. Sale rates may not be available during peak travel periods.
- Book from: November 6, 2026, through November 9, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT
- Travel between: November 6, 2026 to March 10, 2027
- Note: Does not apply to flights booked with Cash + Points. Reward travel is subject to taxes, fees, and government- or airport-imposed charges of at least $5.60 per one-way trip. See the full terms here.
How to Search the Southwest Award Sale
From either the Southwest award sale landing page or the main booking page on the website or app, load the low fare calendar. There is no code needed to activate the sale. The up to 25% discount is applied automatically. You’ll be able to spot the award fares by the strikethrough shown on the base fare. The sale only applies to travel on certain days of the week, depending on the region. Blackout dates also apply. You can use those days to help guide your searches.
The calendar displays Basic fare pricing. Once you click on your date, you’ll be able to see the discounted pricing for other fare types.
Valid Days of Travel
Promo fares for the new Southwest award sale are valid on the following days of the week. They may be available on other days of the week, but the terms say it is not guaranteed.

Sample Searches
To get an idea of how widespread the sale is, I ran some sample searches. I like that this sale has fewer blackout dates in theory than some of the sales from earlier this year. However, most of the routes I searched only had a few days on sale each month during the travel period. Still, I found rates as low as 3,000 points on some short-haul flights and as low as 6,000 points on some long-haul flights. Here’s a look at some examples:

Southwest Award Sale: ToP Thoughts
I love a good Southwest award sale. During past sales, I’ve rebooked trips for as low as 3,000 points. If you have Companion Pass, it’s tough to beat pricing that basically amounts to 1,500 points per traveler. With pricing like that, think about how far you could stretch the current welcome offers on the Southwest personal and business cards. That said, availability with the sale pricing can be hit-or-miss. You’ll likely have better luck if you have flexible dates and/or can travel midweek.
