The Edit Adds Vacation Homes in 2027
The Edit is Chase’s luxury booking program. It made its debut with the refresh of the Sapphire Reserve card in 2025. Since then, the portfolio has been growing with new properties being added. And now the latest news is that The Edit adds vacation homes to its portfolio on January 1, 2027. These vacation homes will be bookable alongside the luxury hotels and resorts that are already part of this collection. It seems this a new trend among banks’ luxury booking platforms. We recently reported that American Express added Airbnb Luxe properties alongside Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection.
Vacation Homes Curated by Plum Guide
Plum Guide as a booking platform may not be as well-known as Airbnb or VRBO. Instead of focusing on quantity and variety, Plum Guide bills itself as a more refined selection of homes that meet specific criteria. The criteria for The Edit’s collection are even more rigorous using “150+ comfort, design and location criteria.”

The Edit Benefits
Benefits and amenities are a key feature of The Edit program. And similar to the existing hotels and resorts benefits, the vacation homes in its portfolio will come with a unique set of amenities. There’s an important caveat, however: The Edit benefits for vacation homes require a four-night minimum stay. The stand-out benefit is that there will be a $150 in-stay credit. This credit can be used for services like massages, private chef and airport pick-up. Right away, you can tell this isn’t your average vacation rental. Additionally, perks like early check-in and late checkout when available are also included.
Gary Leff at View from the Wing asked Chase questions about this announcement and the associated benefit. Chase shared some additional insights that make the benefits sound broader than the initial press release. When asked about the $150 credit, Chase told Leff that “Offerings vary by property and can include services such as fridge stocking, babysitting and dry cleaning.” That’s more generous than it appeared at first glance.
While The Edit adds vacation homes, several of the benefits offered for staying in hotel or resort properties will not carry over to vacation rentals. Notably, vacation rentals do not receive breakfast, room upgrades or welcome amenities. It is not surprising that these benefits would not be included in vacation rentals. But it does raise the question of whether the additional $50 in property credit adequately accounts for the differences.

Using The Edit Credits
The Edit credits spark most of our readers’ attention in this program in the first place. These credits are available on the Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business cards. They are also available to holders of the J.P. Morgan Reserve card as well, although this is not a product we regularly discuss. These new vacation properties will be eligible for the credits, but there are a few important caveats. As noted above, The Edit benefits for vacation homes require a four-night minimum stay. That is only for the benefits, however.
In order to redeem The Edit credits that come with these cards, you need to book a two-night stay. So you could book a vacation rental through The Edit, receive the credit and not receive the other benefits (like the $150 property credit). Or, you could stack two credits together. If you combine a two-night stay and a four-night stay to use both credits, you would receive the other benefits on the four-night stay only. As has been the case with The Edit credits for hotels and resorts, back-to-back stays do not receive double benefits even if they otherwise qualify.
Additionally, Chase has said that you can redeem points for these stays. However, the vacation homes properties will not be eligible for Points Boost.
The Edit Adds Vacation Homes: ToP Thoughts
It is always nice to see more options for redeeming credits. Many people prefer a vacation home setup, especially when planning for a longer stay or traveling as a family. It will be interesting to see what properties are available via The Edit when these vacation homes launch in 2027. I suspect most people will continue to use their credits for The Edit with a traditional hotel or resort property. We will update this article when the vacation homes are added to show some examples of what can be booked.
