There is a Virgin Hotels award sale for some of their US locations that is pretty interesting. Especially when you pair it up with the current Amex Membership Rewards 40% transfer bonus. These hotels often push into the $300 – $500 a night range, which could make this a great use of your Virgin Atlantic / Virgin Red points.

The Virgin Hotels award sale is on select US properties and can be found on the Virgin Red rewards page.

- 20,000 points per night on weekdays
- 30,000 points per night on weekends
- Book by 1/15 for stays with checkout date by 1/31
- Virgin Hotels Dallas
- 22,500 points per night on weekdays
- 35,000 points per night on weekends
- Book by 1/15 for stays with checkout date between 1/1-2/28
- Virgin Hotels New York
- 27,500 points per night on weekdays
- 35,000 points per night on weekends

Just remember that even though you can book until January 15th that the Amex to Virgin Red transfer bonus ends on 12/31. So you may want to plan ahead on that a bit if you are waiting a bit to book the hotel.
Notable Terms
Here are some notable terms of the Virgin Hotels award sale:
- To redeem Virgin Points at Virgin Hotels, you must be a member of The Know, link your Virgin Red account, and ensure you are logged into The Know when you book.
- Bookings made in Virgin Points must be made directly on the Virgin Hotels website.
- Bookings must be made at least 7 days in advance of your intended check-in date and are always subject to availability. Confirmation of completed bookings will be made by Virgin Hotels.
- Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours in advance of check-in date. No Virgin Points will be refunded for no-shows or cancelled bookings outside the cancellation period.
- Once a booking has been made, it cannot be amended; members must cancel and rebook.
- Your Virgin Points balance will be visible in your linked The Know and Virgin Red accounts.
- Points can be redeemed on room rates only. Points cannot be redeemed on other costs incurred during your stay, including, but not limited to, service charges, food and beverage and room service charges. When making the reservation with Virgin Hotels, you may be asked for credit card details to confirm the booking.
- Tourist taxes, fees and charges are payable in addition to the points price and will be calculated and shown to you during the booking journey.
Virgin Hotels Award Sale: ToP Thoughts
I am excited to check out the Virgin Hotels New York in the spring. I was able to book it with my free night certificates from my Virgin Atlantic card. If not, then I would have been kicking the tires on this deal for sure. When you can snag a hotel in New Orleans for as little as 14,000 Amex Membership Rewards (with the 40% bonus), that can be kind of hard to beat.
