U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card Review
The U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card offers bonus cash back on some interesting categories and a sizeable welcome offer. It is a cash back-only credit card that does not earn transferrable currency or miles & points. Aside from a big cash back welcome offer, this card offers a decent earning structure, especially for a no fee card. While it isn't in the same realm as the Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card or Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card it could have a place in our tool belt. In this U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card review, I'll discuss the welcome offer, the earning structure and perks of the card. I will also discuss whether or not it is worth keeping long term and why this card makes sense under, or over, Chase 5/24.

Current Welcome Offer
Here are the terms of the current U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card welcome offer:
- Earn $500 after spending $4,500 within the first 150 days (5ish months) of card membership
- There is no annual fee
- Learn More
The $500 welcome offer is a nice welcome offer and you get the full value since the card comes with no annual fee. I also like that the card offers 5 or so months to complete the minimum spend.
U.S. Bank Application Rules Your Should Be Aware Of
U.S. Bank has a few of their own application rules, similar to Chase 5/24. First, they are sensitive to too many recent inquiries. Also, U.S. Bank will usually deny people that have had more than 4 or 5 new cards opened in the last 12 months. You also have better chances of approval if you have other accounts with them, such as a checking account. Grabbing a U.S. Bank checking account when there is a bonus attached could be a prudent decision. They do like checking customers to be near their footprint though, which is something to be aware of.
U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card Review: Earning Rate
The U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card earns unlimited cash back in the following categories:
- 5% on prepaid hotels and car rentals booked directly in the Travel Rewards Center
- 3% on the following categories at
- Gas and EV charging stations
- Office supply stores
- Cell phone service providers
- Restaurants
- 1% on all other eligible purchases.
- Learn More
The card's terms & conditions specify that purchases of gasoline or electric vehicle charging greater than $200 will not be deemed to be a purchase of automotive fuel and as such will earn a reward of 1%. This is something to be aware of since gas stations do sell things other than gas.
U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Card Benefits
The U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card is on the scarce side when it comes to benefits, which isn't super surprising for a no fee card. The card offers $100 annual statement credit for recurring software subscription expenses, such as FreshBooks or QuickBooks. But, even this benefit is rather limited. According to the card's terms & conditions, the credit is available per 12-month period and is applied to your account within 2 statement billing cycles following 11 consecutive months of eligible software service purchases made directly with a software service provider. Eligible software service providers are identified by their Merchant Category Code.
ToP's Analysis Of The U.S. Bank Triple Cash
The aptly-named U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card is all about the 3% cash back across many categories. Sure, you can earn 5% on prepaid hotels and car rentals booked through the US Bank portal, but that's not what this card is for. And, we always advise against booking through a travel portal whenever possible. It potentially adds more headache than it is worth should anything go wrong with your booking.
Those who enjoy cash back and have a lot of recurring expenses at gas or EV charging stations, office supply stores, cell phone service providers, or restaurants could benefit from this card. The annual statement credit for software subscription could be useful to business owners that already have this expense. But, since the card has no annual fee, there is very little pressure to try to maximize this perk.
The card offers a pretty valuable cash welcome offer and does not count against your Chase 5/24 count since it is a business card. It opens up a new bank for you as well. While U.S. Bank focuses more on cash back with their card offerings they do have some interesting options as you get further down the road. This card could be a way to start a relationship with them.
U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card Review: ToP Thoughts
The U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card is really as simple as it gets. You can earn unlimited 3% cash back across a slew of categories. Unfortunately, the cash back cannot be converted into points or miles. But, for those looking for cash back, this card has some good potential and it comes with no annual fee. I think many will find value it one of the better cash back welcome offers out there too. Especially if you are trying to stay under, or get back under, Chase 5/24.
