Singapore Krisflyer Spontaneous Escapes
Award travelers love cheap flights. Finding cheap flights is likely what lead most of us to finding award travel blogs, groups, and resources to learn more and up our game. The next step is the never-ending search for saver award flights and the desire to travel as you wish for the absolute lowest cost. But sometimes it gets BETTER than saver awards. One of those times is the Singapore Krisflyer monthly Spontaneous Escapes.
Update 5/17: This month's route deals are here— including for the second time, Spontaneous Escapes for Singapore's low-cost subsidiary, Scoot. Hopefully this is a new mainstay of this monthly promotion.
What Are Singapore Krisflyer Spontaneous Escapes?
Each month, Singapore Krisflyer publishes a list of discounted award flights. Like other promotional awards, these discounted award flights vary by route and class of service, but must always be booked by the end of the current month for travel in the following month. Obviously, booking travel a maximum of 6 to 7 weeks in advance does not work for everyone, but for anyone with travel flexibility, these awards offer outsized value. Usually, these awards offer discounts of 30% off published “Saver” rewards. Singapore Airlines lists award flights as “Saver” awards or “Advantage” awards. Saver awards are the cheapest award flights, absent a sale.

What Else Is New For This Month's Singapore Krisflyer Spontaneous Escapes?
For the first time ever, there is also a separately published list of Spontaneous Escapes for Scoot. The low-cost carrier is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines. Travelers can save 15% on Scoot saver awards rates to select destinations. These routes are low-cost economy, but could make for some interesting dirt-cheap options between Singapore and Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, China, Australia and India. Find the list of this month’s discounted Scoot routes here.

The great thing about the Spontaneous Escapes are they actually exist. This is not a PR stunt where only one or two unicorns exist. These seats are available and Singapore aggressively sells these seats to fill the cabin.
