Travel on Points Debit Card

Due to the overwhelming growth of the ToP Facebook group and our blog, financial institutions, travel media outlets, airlines, hotels, and wanna-be influencers have come out of the woodwork to find us. To that end, in an announcement I never expected to ever declare, we are so excited to announce the Travel on Points debit card. This partnership with Banco Sin Nombre, has been 12+ months in the making and we believe it is THE card everyone in award travel should get. I know, I know. It is a debit card, but wait until you hear all the details! Let's take a look.

4/2/24 Update: This was an April Fool's Day post. Thanks for all the laughs!

Details of the Card

For starters, the Travel on Points debit card is like no other debit card in history. Banco Sin Nombre worked hand-in-hand with us at ToP to develop an outside-the-box debit card that benefits everyone, although it remains to be seen how. First, the annual fee is $300, so this places this card right up there with most premium travel cards on the market. If $300 is too expensive, payment plans are available. Rather than paying interest, you can opt to pay only $45 dollars per month to use this card. These payments must be made via your favorite credit card, so that you earn some rewards for this cost.

Why would you pay an annual fee for a debit card? Let us count the ways, including all the amazing features that are unique to this card. Highlights include:

  • 7-8 grams of non-recycled plastic, making this the heaviest and most environmentally-unfriendly plastic debit card available.
  • 24/7/365 fraud protection from a team of professional Costa Rican sloths. They move so slow, even when actually awake, that they catch nothing in a helpful timeframe.
  • Constant fraud alerts and declined charges anytime you wish to use your card for authorized purchases or ATM withdrawals.
  • A website and customer service team that brings together all of the goodness of LifeMiles and Turkish Airlines and creates mind-numbing frustration and anger.
  • Daily Coupons. To offset the annual fee, this card will offer 365 daily $1 credits for eligible purchases at merchants you've never heard of. The average consumer can save between $0 and $0 if they use the Travel on Points Debit Card on a daily basis at the eligible merchants.
  • Rewards! We'll talk about the rewards later on (like much, much later on).

Rewards for the Travel on Points Debit Card

Remember when I said we would talk about rewards much later on? I sure hope so, because it was only one sentence above. Anyway, the Travel on Points Debit Card will have REWARDS! More on this topic soon. We need as many people to pay the annual fee before we can even consider offering rewards or any rewards program. But have no fear, once announced, your rewards will pile up faster than the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow. Whether those rewards you accumulate ever have any value is a story for a different day, but I digress.

Travel on Points Debit Card: ToP Thoughts

Since this is our debit card, we think it's grrrrrrrrrrrrreat. With an annual fee that rivals any premium award travel credit card, and the ability to pay more per month for the same perks, we think this is the one card to rule them all. Throw in 365 daily $1 credits that are unusable for everyone and we have winner, winner, chicken dinner! While credit cards are awesome, and can lead to life-changing trips and experiences at almost no cost, this card is even better. It's amazing how far you might can go when we actually announce the rewards program! Remember, this card will have REWARDS!

We hope everyone loves the Travel on Points Debit Card and has a great April Fools Day. Come on over to the ToP Facebook Group on 4/1 and let us know who you pranked today!
